Prince on Don Kirschner doing Uptown & Party Up Anybody remember this? He had on the 1999 purple coat I believe. I remember it 'cuz my neighbors had it and we used to blast Party Up, tryin' to pretend we were grown (we were in 6-7 grade, plus just had heard about people tossing trash at P during his set opening for Rolling Stones at the Coliseum in LA). Yeah, that's why my mama backhanded me when I was singing Head not knowing what I was singing...there was a dance out at the time called the Head.
Also: P on American Bandstand...saw that...might have that one on tape. Course he said nothing and lip-synched. Hair was slammin' though (pretty sure it was I Wanna Be Your Lover cuz that was the hit...sho was not Soft N Wet!) Speaking of collaborations, since I can't post there, Bowie would be mighty fine...someone mentioned Moonage Daydream from the Ziggy album, and I think I would fall out and die if P did, but since he advised that he was more influenced by Santana than Hendrix, I hear the differences between Mick Fleming's guitar and his. It doesn't feel the same anyway. How 'bout P & Bowie on Bowie's new "Disco King"? There's a wonderful discordant piano and Bowie singing. I could see that definitely... TheBoostress | |
