My Prince Collection Super DVD! Let me see if I can make a long story longer... I recently bought a DVD Writer for my computer so I could transfer home videos of my family from lousy VHS to DVD. My 14 y/o daughter was watching as I was transferring some old video of her at Sea World to the computer. I was explaining to her what I was doing and how DVD's hold a lot more space on them than CD's do. She innocently said "It's too bad my CD player doesn't play DVD's I'll bet we could fit a bunch of MP3's on there!" Flashback to July 03! I bought my daughter an MP3 CD player. She has multiple CD's with 150-175 songs on each. My daughter left my room but planted a seed in my mind.
Flash forward to today, I have a single DVD with 635 Prince songs on it. I spent a few hours a night over a couple nights converting my entire Prince CD collection to 192mbps MP3's, then created something I never would have thought possible. 1 disc with every Prince song in my collection. I believe I have every album, most of the singles remixes, and a few tracks that I made from the Live at the Aladdin DVD, and the Rave un2 DVD. I am one happy fool! Although this disc won't play in my car or in a standard CD player, it will play in my computer and in my home DVD player that is connected to a 500 watt amp! So, the reason I am posting this information is two fold: Reason 1 - So I could gloat to someone who might actually care. I told people at work and they couldn't care less. "Why Prince?" Reason 2 - I want you hardcore Fams to tell me if I am missing anything important. I am sure that I am missing a ton of bootlegs, but those aren't really the ones I am concerned with. Here is the breakdown of the DVD's contents: ALBUMS For you 1979 Prince Dirty Mind Controversy "1999" Purple Rain Around the world in a day Parade Sign O' the times Lovesexy (I broke the single track into multiple tracks) Batman Grafitti Bridge Diamonds and pearls Symbol The Hits 1&2/B Sides 1-800-new-funk Come The Black Album Exodus The Gold Experience Girl 6 Chaos and disorder Emancipation Crystal Ball 5 disc New Power Soul The Vault-Old friends for sale Rave Un2 the joy fantastic The rainbow children Prince One Night Alone Live DVD AUDIO RIPS Rave Un2 the year 2000 Live Prince Live at the Aladdin SINGLES and EXTENDED MIXES The Scandalous Sex suite The Purple Medley 1999 The new masters One Song/Cybersingle 2045/Radical Man U make my sun shine/When will we b paid Erotic City - Extended Version She's always in my hair - Extended Version Pop Life - Extended Version Let's Go Crazy - Extended Version Kiss - Extended Version Do Me Baby - Extended Version The Beautiful Ones - Extended Version Hot Thing - Extended Version I Would Die 4U - Extended Version I Wish U Heaven - Extended Version Mountains - Extended Version Raspberry Beret - Extended Version Adore - Extended Version OFFICIAL WEB DOWNLOADS "X" BOOTLEGS (Okay, I admit it, I have just a few of those on here too. I am not going to list them) The DVD is currently 3.62 Gigabytes with 635 files in 55 folders (The disc holds 4.7 Gigabytes of data so there is still room for future growth!) Feel free to let me know how sick with jealousy you are, or what a giant waste of time you think it is. All I know is that I am typing this with the extended "I would die 4 u" playing and I am shaking my tail like a doggy with a new chew toy. Don't even waste your finger muscles asking for a copy, cuz it will not happen! All of the source discs are mine and I believe I am acting within my legal right to do this for my personal use. Peace, Frstdejo

I do still have them all on the hard drive, but as you know hard drives have a limited lifespan so I wanted to have a nice archive. I also had to repurchase Controversy recently since my first one started skipping. So it is nice to have a backup. Plus the ability to play them through my DVD player in the living room is a plus. Now, I'm thinking I will make another copy to put away, so I don't have to do all the ripping again...
Thanks for the feedback. See you all at Staples Center! Frstdejo
