I don't really like to compartmentalise Prince's music so much. I don't think any time period in his career can be viewed in such terms. He's had good and bad in all those years. I mean, Batman is one of his worst albums in my opinion, but that's from the period many feel is his "golden" era. Likewise, I think The Gold Experience and The Rainbow Children are both fantastic, and they're from an era some say is not nearly as good as his 80s stuff. In all, I think you have to view each album as an individual work, and judge its merit on its own, rather than looking at what era its from.

Ok, I've read, and now I have some things to say.

Y'all are being a bit hard on evilwhitemale. If you take the time to read between the lines, what he's really trying to say is that Prince is his boy, but he expects more out of him then he's been getting lately. If he didn't like Prince, he wouldn't be here. But he's just saying that some people go to some weird extremes to show their appreciation for his music....ALL OF IT, WHETHER IT'S GOOD OR BAD. I admit, there have been some things that evil has said that made me go "WTF?". Evil is disappointed in the stuff that's been coming out as of late, because he's seen Prince at his best and his standards are set accordingly. I can't blame him for that. Take his television appearances. In my opinion, Prince's television appearances are never up to par with his live performances. I get angry because I feel like he's holding back alot just 'cause it's television.

But whether or not something's good or bad is subjective. If y'all are that bothered by what evil says, just keep on scrolling to the next comment.
