There has to be 2 plain and simple reasons that Prince is re-signing with "so-called enemy"...


1) simple..he needs money (signing fees alone will be enormous)

OR

2) he got his masters back



any thoughts?!


I thought he didn't want to have a "middle man" when it came to making money with his music. I thought (through what he's said several times) that he's free to do whatever he wants...and that includes taking most of the profits from his music sales.

As I said before...I don't believe anything he says anymore...this is ridiculous.
and it really disappoints me that I'm sitting here posting something about it!!

#1 Question.. I HOPE or assume they gave him his old masters.

I hope he brings this up on WHY he would go back with them.. how they "sweeten" the pot.

I can't see any other reason.

I can't imagine Prince going back to WB unless they've given him significant leverage in this deal.

He'll probably get his masters back, that's what I'm thinking.

Vash, as a member of the 1978-1995 club, I'd think you'd be happy about this news, since it means all his OLD STUFF will be remastered (if its even true of course)

I thought he pretty much confirmed this on the Tavis Smiley show when he spoke of his "slave" days and his "so-called enemy" (Warner). At that point, it was evident that he did not want to speak ill of them any longer because he was about to do business with them again. I read between the lines then.

BTW, the word is "re-sign"!!! It sounds like y'all are saying the brother is leaving or putting in his resignation or some shit. LMAO!

If I heard it here first, why have I been hearing about this for the past month from all the urban radio stations, bunches of posts here and other PRince sites, and from my motown peeps?

I think he misses the days when he used to sell records. I guess he feels he'll get back in the game with WB. What he doesn't realize is that if he produces crappy music, it doesn't matter what WB does, it's not gonna sell.

The remastered albums are the thing I'm most interested in.

The reason why you will not get a DVD of SOTT is because WB does not own the rights .The rights to the film are with MCA Home Video.I don't know if they still exist.
