MUSICOLOGY= GEEZ.. REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS?? This song cracks me up. It's a song about the "good old days" of music. Sure I agree with the sentiment, but why doesn't Prince write songs on a quality of the good old days, not just sing ABOUT the good old days...
Prince use to make me wanna party and wanna get laid.. I'm not saying he has to be "racy" but please stop singing about how good music used to be, and make it good again! When I'm over 40 I'm still gonna be looking for that new buzz of music and new artists trying to find a glimmer of cool, I can only isten to the old records so many times before they start to get stale. ______________________________________________

Prince isn't dead, just inconsistent.
TRC was full of great songs. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

i haven't heard the song yet, but i'm really looking forward to it. Judging from the comments, i'd say most people like it to an extent, but it's nothing earthshattering.
I'd love to see him back in the top 10, hopefully this song will do it.

LOL I'm not a blind Prince follower, I just happen to appreciate the album. God forbid personal taste huh? The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I had the same thought, but Prince does have a good point Music was a lot better in the good old days before the huge multinational corporations took it over and started to pimp it out. Now it is mainly product, not Art.

True - and the problem is that the same people that bad mouth the new Prince music are the same who shell out real money for some of the crap that tops the charts today. ...cause FACE said so!!!

Considering the aim of Larry's album was to remind people of "real music" and how good it was in the old days, I hope that ain't the case with Musicology (which is such a cool album title). Ok, (pause the sip koolaid) I think whatever he has planned for this album will be huge and should do well. I think with a major record label behind him it'll have the push to be a winner. Let me speculate and go out on a limb, I believe Mussicolgy is the first of 3 albums that will be released by Prince this year, followed by the Purple Rain re-release and a Prince and thr Revolution Album pick your title (dream factory, roadhouse garden). Oh shit, I didn't know! For real??? And I wanted to see him this year... Why is there nothing about this at the NPGMC? Typical... Seriously, I'd rather read your opinions than some of those completely out-there fanatics, but won't stop all this name-calling and melodramatic "Prince is dead"? I can understand why some, especially older fans, are not too thrilled by his latest music, but those comments are just so over the top. TRC was full of great songs. You deserve it for saying something like that!!! JESUS!!! Put the KOOL-AID down!!!! If you hit HIM so hard, what will you do to me? I not only love TRC, but also NEWS and ONA (piano) and I think Come, TGE and anything he's done between Batman and Emancipation is inferior work compared to what's he doing now. With the exception of Musicology, that's quite inferior too.

I don't think TRC is a great album altogether though. There's some mediocrity to sift through before you find the true gems.
Here are the great songs to me. 1+1+1=3 Sensual Everafter She Loves Me 4 Me Last December Then there's some good, solid songs like Family Name and The Work... Too bad there's also horseshit like Rainbow Children and Wedding Feast though. Altogether the album's still good imo. thanks for having a sense of humour!!! it's rare around here sometimes...
Haha it's cool, I wouldn't get pissed at a thing like that. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

OK, let's get this straight.
I know loads about music and am generally smarter than most of you. TRC is an excellent album and is far better than anything he's done in recent times as far as producing a whole, coherent piece of work. Some of you are just plain old already. You're stuck in the past. Say what you like about Prince's music and how it was better in the old days. It doesn't change the fact that you are plenty old and have far less years to live on this earth than me. When Prince dies you'll be well past due going to the pearly gates yourselves so you won't be enjoying the mind-shattering posthumous releases like I will. Think on, then agree you are all my bitches.

The old stuff that wiil be decades old by then. Won't you then be "stuck in the past"???!!

I'd love to see him back in the top 10, hopefully this song will do it. Musicology is on the NPGMC site basically instrumental. it is aiight, but I can only hear it being played in BET & any other Urban radio that plays Prince. It is just good 2 c Prince doing his do again no matter what! Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Maybe we shouldn't set our expectations too high. Let's just enjoy the music. The song hasn't even hit yet and people are already being negative. But, hey, if people want to upset themselves go ahead. I'm going to enjoy it for what it's worth. I don't need Prince to be top ten, or get a lot of radio play. He'll get a lot of radio play on my radio. Peace.
