Prince never aged, but I couldn't help 2 notice how old Wendy looked. She looked like his older Aunt playing the guitar along with him, though they both sounded great. I was just a little bit disappointed when I saw how old Wendy looked.

It's stupid comments like this that keep the Britney's of the world employed. Were you expecting her to be with her hair the same in Purple Rain sitting there with big furs over her shoulders?? The stupidity here never ceases to amaze me.

Here, here Everlasting. Well said. I was not at all suprised at how Wendy looked... she's looked like that for awhile now. The Girl Bros. CD showed that. I guess unless you are constantly by Prince's side, your looks as well as your talent is overlooked.

I mean MY GOD!!!! There are the 2 greatest guitarists in the universe, sitting side by side after what? 18 years??? They could've just sat there and held their guitars, not played or sang a note, and it still would've been phenomenol. We are so priviledged to have witnessed television history last night, and yet everyone seems to be concerned with how old Wendy looked.

Remember something people, Prince has an image to uphold... so make-up, hair surgery, rogaine, exercise, make-up, diet... whatever the hell it will take to make women want to be with him and men want to be him, I'm sure he is willing to do it. Wendy on the other hand, does not need to uphold an image and she is aging very maturely, and gracefully. Her presence and guitar playing alone was beautiful.

From Leah Garchik in today's SF Chronicle:

"Meanwile, Prince and five employees-two hairdressers and three bodyguards- took over the 77 Maiden Lane Salon in San Francisco for two hours on Sunday to prepare him for the show that night.

"Windows were covered with sheeting to guarantee his privacy, but police were called when a stalker who'd been suspected of following Prince around town was seen lurking outside.

"The exact ministrations to Prince are top secret, but I'm told by spies that they weren't anything the everyday matron doesn't do to attend an opera opening."

I wonder if Natasha ever gets into arguments with other Prince stalkers - um, I mean other devoted Prince 'enthusiasts' - over who gets to stalk - um, keep on eye on - Prince where and when? Like do they draw up schedules for who's on stalking duty on a certain day at a certain location? Are there established zones they must stay within so as not to invade another 'enthusiast's' territory?

I would imagine the Prince stalker bureaucracy is very tightly run and involves lots of paperwork to fill out so as to keep everything running smoothly.

lol That is a creepy concept.

I'd love to attend one of their monthly meetings though! wink I'm sure it'd be most entertaining. Everyone attending receives a complimentary tinfoil hat and newsletter (written in crayon)

Seriously, it would be scary as hell to be Prince and know there are people out there who are so unbalanced and that you are their main fixation. confused No wonder Prince goes everyplace with a bunch of big ol bodyguards.

Yeah. And Wendy had on make-up too and she still looked haggard. Without make up she looks like a guy. And I'm not just trying to be funny, this comment is based on several photos of her from a couple years back when she was working on a project with some european musician, I can't recall his name right now.

Are you fucking kidding me? "Wendy is old now (my review of the Tavis Smiley show)"? Where is the review? All I see are mean spirited comments about Wendy. NOBODY commented on an intelligent conversation between two men and a beautiful song played by two of the most talented guitarists on the planet. I'm so tired of the "I hate Prince's hair" comments and the whole lot of bullshit about wanting Prince to be the way he was. Wake up, people. He's still the same man - older now, but nonetheless still Prince. His comments about not cursing anymore was because now that everyone else is doing it, it ain't cool no more. We all know Prince will never do anything else anybody else is doing. Which explains his ever changing path in music. Keep on screaming about "his new music is boring". Maybe if you stop expecting Purple Rain pt.21, y'all be alright. One more thing I gotta sound off on - the comment about him wearing hair pieces. SINCE WHEN?? Maybe you need an eye appointment.

Well, Wendy did lose her brother and we aren't sure if and why she and Lisa broke up. That sadness in a person's life will affect their Spirit.

She looked really happy at the Family Jamm and I'm sure playing in Prince's band (If they are playing together again) will give her happiness.

It's too bad we fear old age the way we do. People carving themselves up and injecting themselves with toxins would be funny if it weren't for the fact that so many people are doing it. Nothing wrong with trying to make yourself look as good as possible, but too many people seem to go way overboard.
While I'll admit I was a little shocked by Wendy's appearance, it was mostly because I hadn't seen her in years. I'm just glad I wasn't sitting there thinking, "God she's so old" so I could actually enjoy the performance.
On an ironic note, I think Prince actually wears less make-up now than he did during his Purple Rain days. I know he still wears it, but it seems that the older he gets, the less he wears.

Wendy just looked older than she used to. That doesn't necessarily mean that she looks like an old lady.
