It says nothing about being released on that day, so wait and see instead of theorising what may or may not be.

I suspect the date will bring information or perhaps a preview rather than the full album which will hopefully be released on a major label, with major label publicity and pushing.

I wonder if you can buy it through the club or just in stores? I'd rather buy it from Prince so he gets more money. Shipping would probably be too high though.

my guess...and let me repeat "guess" (for those of you who will jump on my back for speculations)...is that it will be up for members of the club to hear before purchasing in stores. kind of like the npgmc's version of mtv's 'the leak'. a nice little preview to get us all psyched up.

If he thinks he can get us all drooly by pushing back release dates, that game is tired. If NPG honestly can't get its shit together enough to put something out when they say they will, they need to knock it off and quit writing checks they can't cash (so to speak, ahem). So does this mean Prince does NOT have a major label behind him? You'd think we'd know the fact by now if this date was accurate. Still, it's kind of odd that he's doing all these public appearances...

the official Musicology tour launch is March 29th at the Staples center. There's a press conference on tuesday - we'll find out the album release date then. It wouldn't be that surprising if the album comes out on March 30th (a tuesday). They need time to promote it, promote the tour, and promote the leadoff single before the album is released.

Arnt all albums released on a Tuesday in the US? I know DVDs are generally released on a Tuesday in the US, Monday in the UK. So a Tuesday release is not out of the ordinary is it?

By the way, Sign "O" The Times was released on March 30, and Parade was released on March 31.

I think it's reasonable to assume that he's going to try and get some kind of commercial success with the new album and the re-release of purple rain. I'm sure there'll be a fair bit of selling out" along the way, but you've almost got to do that to get new fans to buy your records. I just hope the music doen't suffer
