My apologies Prince, I wasn't ready for "When The Lights Go Down" When THE VAULT came out, I wasn't into this jazzy vibe that he's on...
but, i can see clearly now and.... this song is INFECTIOUS.... Those bongos in the beginning are MARVELOUS, then it sounds like the band catches a groove, and rides it out for the duration of the song. My new fav...at the moment! 
Anyone else feel me? I'm gonna have to listen to the rest of the CD... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

Un-fucking-believeable track!
I loved it from the first second I heard it. The rest of the album grows on u too, it came out with such negativity among fans I dismissed it at first. I flipped whn he played it at a soundcheck last year...damn!

Real good tune. 
There's a beautiful bit of piano in there - a very quick rise and fall of delicate chords which gets me everytime. | |
