I remember Morris Day doing a Guest VJ hour on MTV & after playing the "Oh Sheila" video, he said "That was the very familiar sound of Ready For The World".

His name is Melvin Riley, chillins'...(you must be) He did write the song about Sheila E. though. He was madly in love with Sheila (and still is I am sure) and he wrote the song about her although he intially denied any connection to Sheila E. Back in the mid 90's at The Escovedo's Nightclub he was always front and center gawking at Sheila. He got rid of the "curl" thank goodness...Sheila intially thought Prince wrote the song about her and called him and he denied it...
