How many artists at the Grammy's was secretly hatin' on Prince?

Just curious...Prince is 26 years into his career, 20 years since purple Rain changed a lot of things for him..and just 10-11 years removed from the landmark decision to change his name to 0+(>...a move that made the butt of jokes for years.

But there he was, opening the Grammy's with Beyonce, the "IT" girl of the night, nominated for a minor category Grammy and was sitting right up front with his wife looking fabulous.

How many peeps you think were secretly happy or secretly hating on him for bucking the system and seemingly thriving from it?

I doubt that really any artists were hatin' on Prince -- most artists AT LEAST appreciate him if not LOVE him . . .

I'm pretty sure it's the record executives and/or the music-buying public that don't like Prince . . .

Besides, let's keep this current Prince momentum ALIVE! Let's not get into the hatin' aspect!

Outkast...Andre3000, who claims to be a big PRINCE fan, didnt even acknowledge PRINCE's performance...I think he was Jealous...

I seen him on BET, and a few other entertainment shows and when asked who was his highlighted performance at the grammy's he said...OUTKAST AND PARLIMENT FUNKADELIC...why didnt he name PRINCE as a highlight?

Since he's always talking about PRINCE in magazine interviews.

Andre3000 is a punk!
He's mad because PRINCE ain't looking his way!

No, if Dre didn't say Prince's performance was the best Got-damn thing he's ever seen then that means he's a Prince HATER and should be sent to Vermillion, Ohio and quickly disposed of.

I dont know, but I suspect he garners a lot of respect amongst his peers, for his immense talent alone, if nothing else.

I think all the artists there were a little miffed at Prince. Now, their fans might actually demand that they sing live and play at least one instrument in their concerts. No more lip-syncing and fireworks for them. Now these people actually have to umm....what do you call it...oh yeah work. Damn Prince. Damn him!j/k lol

I think all of the older one except Sting! he is a man who is above all that little crap of who is getting a push over "me"..

Sting is like Prince.. they both have a following and whenever a new product is out everyone buys it! I think Prince is the sameway with Sting.. because they are both real musicans.

NOW all the little kids getting a push.. there mad some "hasbeen" opened the grammys and not them..

I saw kelly clarkson on a few shows just bitching and moaning about everything.. janets' breast,ect..

Hey Kelly you stood in line for a day ok!!! Your not a musican.. you didn't pay your dues.. if you had any guts you would have moved to NYC,LA & Nashville and start paying your dos!! NOT stand in line for a stupid TV show..have other people write your shit & just be some phoney artist pushing a past era.

I think Prince recovered from his highly publicized contractual disagreements better than George Michael did anyway. The best way to make a record company feel like they suffered the loss, not you, is to keep making music and putting it out so SOMEBODY can hear it. The most sup-par Prince music is still better than 90% of the acts that are still under contract.
A lot of the "in-crowd" artists were teenagers or younger when the name change went down, and maybe they don't realize the significance of a single artist bucking the system and living well from his decision.

Even the Dixie Chicks, the hottest thing in country music, were getting ripped off and crying broke. TLC and B2K also sold millions, toured and they claim they saw little of the money.

I think Christina, Beyonce, Britney and even Outkast might be hoping to even still be in the public eye 10 years from now, let alone 25+ and still a very significant player in the game.
