Is..Tavis PBS Show the first sign of Wendy joining NPG as Rhythm Guitarist?

First off do you think on the PBS show the whole NPG Band is going to be there with Prince & Wendy? (I Do) or.. will it be a "Tears in your eyes" kinda song???

also.. I have a funning feeling this is a first sign or stages of Wendy joining Prince's present NPG Band! He can use another Guitar Player?

I think it would be a nice addition to NPG! Plus it would give it a nice feel for the 2004 music/tour!

For some reason with other bands if you keep the other bass player or guitarist.. fans don't care if you get rid of the other original musicans

example:
Axl & Slash (gun & roses)
Anthony & Flea (red hot chili peppers)
Paul & Gene (kiss)

&

Prince & Wendy! maybe because they are up front.. and fans can see them always next to each other??

* I think it would give nostalgic feel even more with Sheila E there too smile

2004 NPG Band:

Prince: Everything
Wendy: Guitar/vocals
Renato: Keyboards
Rhonda: Bass
John: Drums
Sheila E: Percussion
Maceo & Eric & Candy: Sax

I'd love to see that band!! Also WHY would Prince record a song with Wendy out of the blue & perform it on TV with her??? I think they wanted to see how they worked together in the studio... IF he just dumps her after this PBS TV Appearance and just goes off with the same old NPG Band thats very odd & mean!

Yep, I've suspected the same thing since Wendy came back in the picture - and recording a song together has really added weight to the theory. Up until ONA Prince always had a rhythm guitar player in the band, I think he's been keeping it free for her to add some of her major 9ths to Purple Rain. I wouldn't want to see anyone else there - if it's not gonna be Wendy, the Prince should handle it all himself. Actually I think it's really tuned up his guitar skills over the last couple of years.

Only one problem I can see with the theory - It's looking a bit too expected - and Prince never does what people expect, right???

Oh, and your 2004 NPG band - yep that would be the ultimate for me!! But I doubt he'll take 3 sax players, and even though he's my favourite Prince sax man, I think Eric's getting a bit tired for another world tour.

I hope not...Prince got 2 be the only guitarist in the NPG...I hate when others play guitar instead of him

Hey, Sorry if this sounds predictable, but if Wendy is gonna be with Prince, you NEED Lisa. They are a pair of musical wonders. The Dynamic Duo!

The Band:

Prince: Everything
Wendy: Guitar/vocals
Lisa Keyboards/vocals
Renato: Keyboards
Rhonda: Bass
John: Drums
Sheila E: Percussion
Maceo & Eric: Sax
"So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

There is NO mention of a song being recorded, read the post again, it says they recorded the Tavis Smilely show, that's all.

ok my brother read on another site BUT no link of course.. but that it is acoustic song.

and..

if we see on the front page on the org.. they said the other band members were just interviewed for a purple rain dvd.

sooo maybe prince was just being nice..when they saw each other around town or at this dvd thing? maybe it is a one shot deal with wendy?

If Prince is going to start doing all the PR stuff again he needs another guitarist. As good as the Grammy stuff was the absence of a second six-string strummer was very noticeable. Let's Go Crazy sound very lite. DAT doesn't cut it live, so...welcome back Wendy...with a little bit of luck.
