Did you guys see this? PRINCE at Penn State
Since releasing his first album "For You" in 1978, PRINCE has proven to be one of the most influential figures in modern rock history. His unique mixture of rock, funk and pop, combined with his unique producing and composing skills, will earn him an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next month. A four-time Grammy award winner, Prince has compiled 22 Top 10 hits, 11 of which reached #1. He was also ranked #18 on VH1: Greatest Artists of Rock & Roll in 1998. In 1984, Prince starred in the film "Purple Rain", but it was the success of the movie’s soundtrack that gave Prince the most acclamation. The 13x platinum LP included the #1 hits, “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and “Purple Rain.” Rolling Stone later named the album #2 on its list of “100 Best Albums of the 80s.” Other Prince hits include "Money Don't Matter 2 Night", "I Wanna Be Your Lover", "Thieves In The Temple", "Diamonds and Pearls", "Little Red Corvette", "Sign O' The Times", "Rasberry Beret", "Take Me With You", "U Got The Look", "Alphabet City", "Delirious", "Gett Off", "Cream", "Kiss", and "1999." That's cool if it's true. Nowhere newr 11 I think the number is 4. When Doves Cry, Kiss, Batdance, and Cream. Oh wait I think Let's Go Crazy may have been number 1. I know he also had a boatload of number 2 hits. [This message was edited Tue Feb 17 14:57:26 2004 by lovemachine] | |
