Your least favorite 'major' Prince song I really dislike Do Me, Baby - I know other people love it and it's a classic 'major' Prince song that gets played on the radio even when it wasn't a single (or was it? I forget).
What's your least favorite 'major' Prince song?

'Cream'. Major Dullsville.

lol - I knew Cream would be the first response.

The only I can say I am not crazy about is "Theives in the Temple". It has never got me like other "major" Prince songs. However I do like the long version MUCH better than the one on GB.

lol - surely Beyonce's performance of a Purple Rain medley on the Grammy's, complete with a guest appearance by Prince himself, must have turned you onto these songs again...

I never thought I'd say this but something is seriously wrong with you. I mean, how could you dislike an all-time classic? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I'd have to go with Diamonds & Pearls and TMBGITW. I mean, they're cool songs, but they're just corny. I think Prince just wrote those for the ladies, and I can understand that because he's a ladie's man. But I'm a dude, so those tracks don't really have a profound effect on me. I'd prefer something more masculine. [This message was edited Fri Feb 13 14:33:29 PST 2004 by NWF] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

There's a lot of answers to this question, but the one that fits the bill best for me is 'Raspberry Beret'.

AndGodCreatedMe said: Arms of Orion
I don't know if I consider The Arms Of Orion to be a 'major' Prince song, even though it was a single. It's been pretty much forgotten since then, not appearing on The Hits or Very Best Of Prince (not even as a b-side on the Peach or Controversy singles, which included many minor hits), and Prince has never really played it live (maybe a few seconds in piano medleys in 1993). Even the b-side, I Love U In Me, appeared again as the b-side of Insatiable, as if to rewrite history as if The Arms Of Orion had never happened... Of course, I could just be saying this all because I happen to like the song. Cheesy though this may be, my wife and I lived 3,000 miles apart in different countries for 3 years before I moved to the US, but we could both always see Orion in the sky each night...

Was "Batdance" major?
I've never been really crazy about "Purple Rain," "Little Red Corvette," or "Kiss." But, those are much better than "Batdance."

I don't know that these are "major" Prince tunes, but they were singles: "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" & "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold". Both always screamed "CONTRIVED" to me. Also I have fantasies about the day that P drops "Take Me With U" from the set. I mean, really...

Cream. Hands down, of all of his hits, it is my least favorite. The first time I heard it I thought it was a boring rip-off of T-Rex's "Bang A Gong (Get it on)". Still do! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
