Where can I find a list of every gig Prince has played?

Oh dear, I know I'm being a bit of a trainspotter here but I would like to find a list of all his gigs (including aftershows).

It's mainly because I'm curious to see where he's played in the North of England. I know he's played Manchester Apollo & Maine Road Football Ground, as well as Sheffield Arena.

Can anyone help?

Cheers!

The best advice I can give you is a book called Prince: A Documentary, by Per Nilsen.

It is written in a diary sort of way, day by day, to an extent.

problem is, I think the latest publication includes events upto 1992/1993.

After that, I can't help ya.

Does Birmingham NEC count? I don't think he's done an aftershow up north though? at least not to my knowledge he hasn't.

I actually had an older edition, ending at 1991 that had a section of 10 or so colour pinups. too bad the library only got back 20 pages from that book :p

I bought the newer one and kept it in tact :p

What! omg If I didn't already know we lived in the same town, I'd think you were a Southener! Birmingham is in the Midlands.

Mind you, you knew what I was thinking - has he ever done an aftershow up here? Next time he tours up here, I'm sending a list of venues with contact names & numbers to those PP types at the NPGMC. Don't know what good it will do me, but I'm going to!

Wonder if he'd consider the McAlpine Stadium?

That would be slick, being able to walk home from a Prince concert! After the aftershow at the Camel Club!

I know it's the midlands. It's north of the Watford gap aint it? wink

as for the Mcalpine, i've always thought it'd be a good venue. REM, Bon Jovi barf and Bryan Adams barf barf have all played there. I didn't go to any of those, didn't need to, i could here them from my house.

I don't think he'd have a problem filling it either.

(I remember when it only had 3 stands! lol)

He's played an aftershow in The Garage in Glasgow, in 1995. I started university there in 1996, and every time I went to The Garage on a night out, I danced onstage and I always imagined him playing there. The stage is tiny. Musty have been a great place to see him with a killer band...

Cheers thebumpsquad!

That's exactly what I was after, you're grand.

Well, some surprises there.

I didn't realise he didn't come over between Dirty Mind & Parade.
No shows outside London until Lovesexy?! (tut tut!)

He really needs to broaden out his touring a bit more, doesn't he?

Maybe I need to start a McAlpine Stadium petition over at NPGMC!

1 UK aftershow outside of London in his entire carear - that is shameful.

Still, he did play the Apollo in Manchester - which was nice. In fact, don't you think the ONA tour had a bit of an aftershow vibe to it?

Guese the moral is, make sure you see the bugger in London.

Actually he was due to come over between Dirty Mind and Parade and a "triple threat" show was annouced for the Dominion Theatre in London as part of the 1999 tour.

Unfortunately it was cancelled (even though I had tickets sad )

Instead of buying "Turn it Up" or "Prince A Documentary", I'd buy "The Vault" published by Uptown books (and Per Nilsen) in a couple of months. I think it is a combination fo those two books with new material added, but I could be wrong on the specifics.

Gutted! Nothing sucks like having someone cancel on you. A friend of mine had tickets to go see Red Hot Chili Peppers live in Manchester. She got to the gig to find that the band had decided to cancel the gig to play Top Of The Pops instead! How shit is that? Fuck the fans we have, we want more?
