I think its safe to say, based on my knowledge of the JWs that this was some sort of Kingdom Hall. It may not have been one that was open to the public, but it was definitely in that vein.
Wonder why it never got finished? Maybe he quit paying the builders? Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

The staff members I know/knew at Paisley Park told me that it was going to be restaurant while it was being built and then after construction stopped they told me he changed his mind. Trust me. There is a Kingdom Hall almost literally across the street...that doesn't make any sense...and what kind of Kingdom Hall doesn't allow the public in?

I was referring to the post which said that he thought it was a non-public Kingdom Hall.

A copy of the planning application (or a link to an image of it) was also posted here or on amp in the early days of building. That stated that its use would be a restaurant.

I think it's commonly believed to be a never-completed restaurant called 'The Egg', as in the line from Mellow.

It looks like he's lost interest in it. Some people put gnomes in their garden, Prince builds a giant cake and then changes his mind.

Once the $$$ starts rolling in again. I bet he'll find some good uses for it. Paisley is a very 80's design.. I wonder what he'll choose for the inside of the giant cake.

It would be nice if Prince made this his own 3,000 seat Concert Stage.. and played every weekend (atleast twice a month)
I'd move there so I can see him perform shows there! ** hey he would get 100% of the profits then [This message was edited Sat Feb 14 1:38:37 PST 2004 by locoarts]
