Prince - "Greatest moment in Grammy history"

Article from: http://www.chartattack.co...2/0908.cfm

Relevant text:

The show started with one of the greatest live moments in Grammy history. Prince, long at odds with the music industry, stepped on stage to sing the title track from Purple Rain, an album which will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary later this year. The performance really took off when Beyonce, clad in a spangled pink go-go number came out on stage and the two launched into a medley of Prince’s hits. Prince wailed on his guitar while Beyonce proved beyond a doubt that she is, in fact, Bootylicious. It was freakin’ awesome.

Beyonce and Prince’s show-stopper (or, er, starter) was only matched by OutKast’s (or, more accurately, Andre 3000’s) rendition of "Hey Ya!" which closed the show. While Andre may receive a complaint or two for co-opting Native American culture by dressing himself and a bunch of super-sexy back-up singers in Pocahontas-style gear, his performance, complete with a marching band, was red-hot. It was as if Prince passed Andre the unlikely sex symbol torch right before our very eyes.
