Prince - The truth

I was just listening to the song "The Truth" for the first time. Did'nt exactly leave a lasting impresion.

Does anybody like this song or the album which it came off?

The song seems to be made of differnt patches pasted into one song?

Go home. Do your homework. Listen carefully.
Then come back.

It's a masterpiece ... go get your ears syringed.
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I disagree completely...I think it's an exceptional album, each song is great, and it was a massive missed opportunity for Prince to fill the commercial and creative void of the mid to late 90's with an album that would have taken audiences by surprise. I also think that reviews of the Crystal Ball generally pointed out the The Truth was great, but the rest was hit and miss. All the fans I talk to seem to love The Truth as well, though that's probably too small a sample take a representative of the overall view.

i love the album, but unfortunately...

how much of it is actually "The Truth," when he would not be able to release the record "as is" today?

it is not JW friendly. he would have to cut it up to release it today. would this, not make it "The Lie?"

...or just "Yesterdays Truth?"

My highlights were:
Circle Of Amour - that song fit some girls I knew quite well
Dionne - great production work
Man In a Uniform - acoustic funk
Fascination - very slick
Welcome 2 The Dawn - made everyone jump up and say "Well if that's the acoustic version, then what about the more produced one?" Song is very prolific and pretty deep. I want to hear the progress of this one in the future.
