That's the first time he's used live strings, correct? Although the strings were low in the mix on the Grammies, it was cool to see P backed by a string section. I think they were live, although I guess it's possible they were pre-recorded.
I would love to see him play a full (one-off?) concert using a full string section, professionally recorded for DVD and possibly CD release. Any other thoughts on the live strings last night? | |

If he plans on going the retiring-the-hits-dramaqueen-route, he could end that tour
in a stylish venue (i.e. Royal Albert Hall) and play a show with fully orchestrated songs. Of course not every song would work that way, some caution is required, but it would add a new element to the rather played-out songs. And a DVD seems a logical step. I am not too sure it is funky enough for him, but it is interesting nonetheless. | |
