Prince why did you do the Grammys?

Why did he perform with that Beyonce entertainer when he is an actual artist. It was embarrasing. Although I loved seeing him that show was sooo far beneath him. What a bunch of crap I just watched Prince then turned it OFF! The music industry may never see a talent like Prince again. I also guess they did not give him an award. They just used him as they do everyone.

I agree TerryD...
Prince has got 2 B the KING of wasted opportunity.

If Prince is now FREE, why would he agree to
do that promo for WB's???
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Because he's trying to help his moribund career. Yes, he's one of the great talents of American music, but he's shot himself in the foot so many times, that it's no wonder you don't see him on tv or hear him on the radio anymore. And don't try to say (like a lot of the unreconstructed nuts on this site who use numbers 2 express words) that he's just an artist who goes against the grain. Tonight was proof that he plays the game when it helps him.

The answer's simple: because he's "free" to do so. He's not bound to anything at the moment, so he's able to do what he want's musically. Let the man be a man for God's sake.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

One more thing. If Prince is the king of wasted opportunities, then he wouldn't have done the Grammy's when asked. This was probably one of the few times that Prince did someting right in the last 10 years.

I totally agree with that statement.

It's just too bad it required him to team up with a 'flavor of the month' singer to do it.

warning2all

Was it entertaining? YEP!

Was it energetic? YEP!

Did it help to remind people that Prince exists? YEP!

Was it a stepping stone for the year to come? YEP!

Prince would only do this if there were greater motives @ hand;NOT to look like a Vegas bound has-been trying to move a few copies of his old PURPLE RAIN album. If he had NOTHING in the works for 2004 THEN I would worry!

Love that dance spin after the intro to "Crazy In Love"...the guy is going on 50!

I think it's a "by any means necessary" move on his part and I ain't mad at him for using Beyonce' to get himself back out there. Hell, at this point I'd be happy if he was working with Big Bird and Elmo if that's what it takes to get himself back out there again.

And I agree with you Warning2all. Prince has something up his sleeve.
