Prince--I'm ashamed

I received a phone call from my best friend at her college. She called to inform me that Prince has officially gone potty and colaborated with the biggest skank in the music business- Beyonce. Well, she didn't say that--I did.

The attention I've been paying to Prince lately has dwindled significantly, so I had no prior knowledge of tonight's performance, but I probably would have been so nauseated at the site of prince collaborating with an obviously inferior artist, just so he can seem more "relevant," that perhaps it's better that I missed it.

Is this the Prince I know?

Alas, I shall now retreat back into hibernation, and I will resurface the next time Prince pisses me off. Unless I'm pleasantly surprised.

I'm appalled.

Why would Prince need Beyonce to perform with him? Just to help him appeal to the younger audience. Well, he's a musician from our era and not the younger hip-hop audience. I believe he's starting to look like a huge sell-out and it sucks.

I imagined him opening up with the Revolution, just for all times sakes, but I would've just accepted him opening with his band, the NPG; but with Beyonce, strutting her overly saturated azz on stage with him just pissed me off more with her and now I'm beginning to think that Prince was never a pop/rock&roll hero he used to be, but just another cheap musician that's needs fans to make him look good. I really thought he was different.

Good job appealing to the younger audience Prince...you suck.

Well,
Good music is ...just that. Good music.
It`s always okay to team up with someone who is good.
Beyonce is good. She didn`t invent the shit, but she is good.
How many innovaters are there on the scene today?
Do we need that? I don`t need that.
There`s a lack of really good performances in the media.
It`s not that there aren`t any good artists.
The stuff that has been "invented" lately is nothing but a rip-off.

Maceo parker didn`t change his way of playing the saxophone
very much during the last 35-40 years.
But he got better and better, LOL.

What i want to see is interaction. I love to see people
creating music together.
If you really saw their performance you`d know what i mean.
That was an example of pure interaction. Just great.
I don`t care about Beyonce`s history.
Prince can be proud. He did a very good performance.

We all get up everyday and try to be good, right?
Well - she was very good. Excellent singing.
I had a blast watching the performance.
It`s also okay if you didn`t like it.
But i did.
Good.

good edit,too

Hooking up with Beyonce for tonight's Grammy performance is no different than his sad attempt at appealing to the masses that was RAVE.

I got a phone call from my best friend at college, too.
She is an oracle. She said the Neptunes will be
forgotten in 5years.
Cool story, eh?

I have no problem with it.I would have preferred to see him by himself anfd I thinkl they should invite him to play wityh the funkateers, also!!ALL of those guys owe him an invite!!P helped George out and inducted thema nd Andre is borrowing some style from p and is a fan.

I see no problem or sell-outtedness.Prince is in the midst of a last run tour of his greatest hits that he will not perform again. Also,it is the 20th anniversary of one of the greatest rock movies and albums in history!Besides,it get his name out ther again. No,Beyonce added nothing but extra appeal to casual music fans, but like James Brown said,"use what you got to get waht you want" and Beyonce is there to use for pub.

My biggest problem, again,is people NOT being outraged about R Kelly being there and NOT being outraged by Timberlake's weak ass ...existence.I didn't hate him before...I actually didn't mind a couple of his Neptunes -produced tunes, but now...this guy is transparent and weak.He should'a gotten booed off the stage for those comments at the Grammy show and for not sending love to Janet.

I digress.Prince should'a plauyed MORE guitar and played by himself. But maybe he will be invited again now since he played nice with the kids and then he can take the stage by himself and blow the doors off.

I'm NO Justin TimberFlake fan but why would he be obliged to "send love" to Janet?

She pulled an egotistical, inappropriate and ridiculous stunt that backfired and he's not going to be the only one to try to distance themselves from the stinky cloud that's going to cling to her for a long, long time to come as a result.

If he truly didn't know about her stupid plan to expose her boob and what she said is true, that she cooked it up unbeknownst to him and all he thought he would be doing is exposing her bra-covered bosom (and NOT a bare boob with just nipple jewelry), then IMO he should feel used and even more of a tool than he normally is.

So again, if that is the case, why does he owe Janet any "love"?

That all said, I still think Justin is a weasely little twerp whose hype and fame I just don't get.
