Well, maybe I have really low standards - and if so, so be it - but I dug the hell out of the Grammy performance.

It wasn't an aftershow with rarely played vault gems pulled out of his hat, and there wasn't a 20 minute guitar solo, and he didn't go off on some crazy ass rants about the music industry and interferons - but it was supposed to be for John Q. Public, not for the fans.

And on that level, he killed tonight.

Prince could care less what any of you think. An artist can never please everyone. If he'd done what some of you have suggested, there would still be just as many complainers as there are now. Instead of worrying about what P should or shouldn't do, why don't YOU write a great song. Why don't YOU put in a great performance that will please everybody on earth. Seems as though you'll always be an unhappy camper if you allow your expectations to be so high and precise. It's like you're gambling with your own emotions. For what? You'll be disappointed time and time again.
In order for you to be truly pleased, I suggest you create your own art and strive for perfection there, rather than expecting perfection from someone else. Trust me, it's a lot more rewarding.
