Some performers at the GRAMMY awards understandably want to hold the stage in a big way, and during this year's show, multiple-nominee Beyoncé looks to be the artist making the biggest use of stagecraft. At Saturday evening rehearsals, the singer unveiled the elaborate stage piece on which she'll perform "Dangerously In Love 2." Beyoncé appeared at the center of a huge faux gilded frame, inside of which a cast of 17 — on a well-dressed, multitiered set — struck poses to create a tableau reminiscent of a 19th century salon. Beyoncé, adding her lead vocals to the song's backing track, at first seemed hesitant to put too much strain on her powerful pipes, but as the rehearsals proceeded and the sound was dialed in, she let loose with all the melismatic gusto of an up-and-coming diva. One surprising nonhuman cast member made a perfectly timed entrance during the song's dramatic close. It could be outdated...Janet was only recently cancelled, I believe (with Beyonce and Prince in her place). There have been at least two mentions of Prince and Beyonce performing together and at least one mention of them opening.

Maybe Beyonce is using some exotic animal in her performance, like Britney Spears used a big snake and tigers that time on some awards show when she did "I'm a Slave 4 U".

I heard Prince and Beyonce will open it. Wonder whether they'll to one of his songs or one of hers? I'd love them to do ""U Got The Look." "Sugar Walls" prolly wouldn't be a good choice right about now.
