Purple Rain... 20 Years Later.

Just saw Purple Rain tonight... with my 16 year old daughter and 8 year old son.

clapping It stood the test of time, musically and stylistically.

The acting was sub par... but, that was never the strong point.

The music and style were key. Prince's presence, of course, was instrumental in making this the wonderful piece of work that it was.

I saw this in the theatre's in 1984... and I remember it well... and I remember me and my friends seeing it like 5 times each!

Anyway... just wanted to remind you of the importance of this film...

Oh... saw the preview on the crappy rendition of DVD that I have... yet, it showed some scenes that were not in the film... Prince dragging Appolonia out of Morris' practice barn... some other sex scenes with Apples...etc...

Hopefully this will be on the August release of Purple Rain. Can't wait. I'm gonna buy that one too!

If you knew that already... what can I say. I'm just writing what I did last night. It brought back some memories, that's all. Sheesh. rolleyes

My daughter loved it... understood a little more about the music... (She's 16). My boys fell asleep lol They're young anyway.

...and yes I "censored" the sex scenes from them. confused It was more about the music and the film (in general) for us.

How did you censor the sex from your kids? Did you literally make them turn away or fast forward the film? Sorry I'm not making fun.

I covered their eyes... my daughter just turned her head. It's funny... the sex scene really shows nothing, it's just that Prince had to take it a step further and is rubbing all over her panties lol

Also, during the sex scenes... it's mostly music you hear anyway... not so much the bump and grind moaning and groaning from most films. I didn't fast forward, cuz it doesn't last that long.
