ell in Purple Rain he got bitchslapped and pimpslapped by his Poppa from opening credits to THE END.

Then in UTCM he gets pushed around by Tricky... and U must remember this is Tricky we're talking about...the guy who punches like his name should've been called Vicky.

Fastforward 4 years and enter Prince getting ruffed up by Morris Day and the Time in Graffitti Bridge.

So whats this all about-is he a lover not a fighter, is he too short and too thin 2 fight, why does he need 2 fight when he gets bodyguards like Chick, did he really have a fight with sinead O' Connor in a carpark, did he really pimpslap BrownMark on stage once in front of 5,000 people 4 getting a chord wrong...Can he fight and has there evr been any talk of if he's ever been in one??? :hmm2:hammer:

I'll bet he can fight well for his size. I got into prince, and music and boxing at the same time in my teen years and this obsession would lead to overlap. I would look at prince like I would a fighter. He's got great coordination, a lot of heart/passion which is the most important ingredient for a fighter and he's in fantastic shape, also very important. On the negative side, he's very small, any 200 pound man could probably sit on him. I did however read in "POPLIFE" or maybe one of his other biographies that he was a great fighter, deceptive and evasive, people thought they could pick on him and he would show them different. He's also super competitive. I think a lot of his bitch act is for show. Brownmark himself said he drop kicked him for breaking a bass string during a show. So yeah he can take care of himself. Little guys are always the meanest, they got too much to prove.

I found this quote from an interview with Prince from 1985

::With his taste for outlandish clothes and his "lunatic" friends, Prince says he "took a lot of heat all the time. People would say something about our clothes or the way we looked or who we were with, and we'd end up fighting. I was a very good fighter," he says with a soft, shy laugh. "I never lost. I don't know if I fight fair, but I go for it. That's what 'Uptown' is about -- we do whatever we want, and those who cannot deal with it have a problem within themselves."::

That quote may have been requoted in 1985 but it was first said in 80 or 81 during promotion of the dirty mind album. i don't know if it's true or not. His quotes from that era were marked by half-truths.

That's true, I'm a fighter and been around a zillion fighters, been in a zillion altercations, heard stories etc. Little guys like prince are often temperamentally more inclined to have a fighting attitude. I'm heard lots of stories about little high strung guys, beating the crap out of bigger guys that just don't wanna fight.

I don't think he can. He has his bodyguards to protect him, so he's always safe from confrontation. And I doubt he'd risk bruising his hands in training.

Yes! some call it that. But I see it also as part of the temperament of smaller men. Look at small dogs and big dogs and you'll see where I'm going. Look at heavyweight boxers and featherweight boxers. Most heavyweights are pretty mellow and so are some of the little guys but alot of them are nasty, mouthy people.

Speaking as one who is a little shorter than 5'. I am here to tell you, when you are short you better know how to fight or learn pretty darn quick. And do a whole lotta big talk. I'm guessing that the brother could throw down. Of course I'm from Brooklyn and he's from Minneapolis, but hey the ghetto is the ghetto.

Also read that he challenged either levi or miko to 'step outside' at which the answer was "why? so all your bodyguards can beat me up?"
