Just found out from a member of Beyonce's tour entourage that Prince wanted to do a slow-tempo song and Beyonce wanted to do an up-tempo number.

They are doing the up-tempo one and are OPENING the show! So don't turn it on late.

Maybe since Prince has this Ike and Tina Turner vision they'll do "Proud Mary"?

ooh, with his sexy bass singin "rollin, rollin"
ooh, ooh, that would be kinda cool. and you know she can shake her ass like tina...

SEEE Folks are tripping now because of the news..but Ya'll know...ya'll are not gonna miss this performance...him and Beyonce can perform "Islands In The Stream" and you'd still watch...

TOOO FUNNNYYY!!!

SHOOOT!!! Prince on THE GRAMMIES!!! Ya'll been saying around here FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS..that you wanted LIL MAN to get some mainstream exposure...well here you go...

Talk about exposure. Cause of Super Boob these Grammys are probably going to have ratings higher than the last 5 put together, and you KNOW this!!

Some people/orgers will never be satisfied...I wanted to see him and his NPG band too...But I think this can be great...Beyonce is a great performer on stage...she has a stage presence just like he does..that you just can't deny.

Even I like watching her shake her ass...and I am such a girl.

I mean come on people...He's gonna be on THE GRAMMIES...THIS IS PRINCE.remember...the artist that some people(mainstream audience) believed to be dead. Anything other than that can only be deemed as a step up.And he is gonna appear on a show that will be viewed by millions of people

Zillions, people

A lot of Prince fans have been complaining over the years...that they want to see him back in the mainstream again... Well...

Posititvity...Have you had your + sign today?

here go mine +++

Jay-Z BE AFRAID...VERY AFRAID!!!lol

You know P gonna try to tap dat ass. Oh dam, forgot Mayte will be right offstage with the eagle eye.

NOW TELL ME YOU AIN'T GONNA WATCH THIS!!!

Y'all really should STOP TRIPPIN'. You're acting like no one is good enough to share the stage with Prince! Beyonce is a success in her own right, tore up and national anthem at the Super Bowl, probably has turned down more movie scripts in the past few years than Prince has even been offered, and she is a wonderful entertainer.

Maybe some folks are scared she'll upstage Prince, who ain't as spry as he was in '84...
I have no respect for any artist that feels he/she needs to show flesh simply to sell records. And you said it: she is an entertainer. If P is gonna share the stage with someone, I'd rather it be with someone who can write their own stuff and play instruments.

that is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen...I mean...I can't even process that, it's so stupid...disbelief

Beyonce won't even be worth mentioning two years from now.

Folks have been saying that for about 5 years now...

Beyonce has a great voice. Prince has always appreciated good altos, especially good looking ones.

And as for him "finally" selling out -- as some have suggested -- what was Rave? If he doesn't have a hang-up about performing with Beyonce, why should anyone else?

The Grammy show is all about pairing up with new folks. Badu, George Benson and Diana Krall did a cool jazz number a few years ago. Carlos Santana paired up with Lauryn Hill a few years ago for "Zion," and it was wonderful.

Sometimes, the idol worship of P gets outta hand on this board. He's the favorite entertainer for a lot of us, but he's still only human. Sheesh!
I 've respected your opinions for a while now, Threadbare because you always give a well-thought out response to everything. I will respectfully disagree with you and say that nothing Beyonce has done has made me stand up and take notice.

I appreciate that. Also know that I'm fine with Beyonce as long as she's singing.

Whenever she starts to TALK, well, the fantasy just dies...

I have to agree with that. She may be hip and cool and sexy and talented but 5 grammy's? Thing is 2 of them were for her song with Luther who is definitely grammy-worthy and 2 others were not for solo efforts either.

Her talent may be in her hook-ups. To win a grammy you should be better than everybody, not just the other nominees.

See, but that's the thing: In one category, Beyonce was up against Heather Headley, who can sing Beyonce's ass under a table.
