Y'all really should STOP TRIPPIN'. You're acting like no one is good enough to share the stage with Prince! Beyonce is a success in her own right, tore up and national anthem at the Super Bowl, probably has turned down more movie scripts in the past few years than Prince has even been offered, and she is a wonderful entertainer.

Maybe some folks are scared she'll upstage Prince, who ain't as spry as he was in '84...

I have no respect for any artist that feels he/she needs to show flesh simply to sell records. And you said it: she is an entertainer. If P is gonna share the stage with someone, I'd rather it be with someone who can write their own stuff and play instruments.

So the Lovesexy cover was purely for artistic purposes?
The butt-revealing MTV pants were essential to the integrity of the performance?
Hmmm.

How about a Prince & Beyonce version of Nothing Compares 2 U? Although I believe he said he wouldn't perform it with anyone except Rosie, I think it would be the perfect song choice.

Prince did shit to shock, not to sell records. Plus, he's a musician and a true artist. Beyonce won't even be worth mentioning two years from now. Nothing she has done is jaw-dropping or awe-inspiring. If anything, him being naked on an album cover would have turned folks off.

Finally Prince REALLY DOES SELL OUT.

How tragic.

I wouldn't be so quick too say that. He's been mentioning Beyonce for some time now, maybe he just has fun performing with her. I could imagine that he's fully aware that some people would look at this as a sell-out, but you know he isn't one to justify himself.
If that's what he wants to do, he'll do it.

...if this is true at all.

Just found out from a member of Beyonce's tour entourage that Prince wanted to do a slow-tempo song and Beyonce wanted to do an up-tempo number.

They are doing the up-tempo one and are OPENING the show! So don't turn it on late.

He is doing it, because the Grammies only want commercial performers. I think you all know that by now. And Prince never jams with other people. He is too much of a poopy head.

Folks have been saying that for about 5 years now...

Beyonce has a great voice. Prince has always appreciated good altos, especially good looking ones.

And as for him "finally" selling out -- as some have suggested -- what was Rave? If he doesn't have a hang-up about performing with Beyonce, why should anyone else?

The Grammy show is all about pairing up with new folks. Badu, George Benson and Diana Krall did a cool jazz number a few years ago. Carlos Santana paired up with Lauryn Hill a few years ago for "Zion," and it was wonderful.

Sometimes, the idol worship of P gets outta hand on this board. He's the favorite entertainer for a lot of us, but he's still only human. Sheesh!

This is a trip cuz given a clean slate I'd be wary that he, of the assed-out pants prince
and DARLING NIKKI-fame jerkoff
and she, the thik-thighed sexy golden goddess sexy (dem videos for CRAZY IN LOVE & BABY BOY is pure-boner material, eh felllas?horny), would be likely to flip-switch on that 5-second delay in a mutha-fuggin' blink-of-an-eye! omfg

Tell me if ya ain't feelin' this. >>> boff

Producers betta go for an up-tempo number and Prince betta keep his hands on his guitar! guitar; not on da ass spank !!!

Otherwise, this shit gonna be crazy whack-stoopid nuts ,if they don't watch out.

i don't know what some of y'all are thinking? of course this would be a good thing for prince. him simply being in a group performance with a bunch of funksters that the general public doesn't care about would not help him too much. now, performing with someone as hot as beyonce is right now, that's good thinking. let's not forget one important thing. prince is a POP STAR. he's not a funk star. he's not an rnb star (although, due to the color of his skin he seems to get lumped into that category in wrecka stows). if he does something fun, loose and pop-py with beyonce it could have a great impact on his visibility. i mean, look at what working with current pop stars did for santana. don't be so quick to knock the pop world...after all, prince WAS the pop world for most of the 80's.

I have not watched the Grammies in years due to umm how should I put it...oh yeah bullshit record company puppets...yeah that's it.

It was exciting back when they had real performers getting awards and the excitment of people like "P" and MJ and all.

I don't know or can predict what will be the outcome of the performance, I just hope they give "P" his time in the light.

SEEE Folks are tripping now because of the news..but Ya'll know...ya'll are not gonna miss this performance...him and Beyonce can perform "Islands In The Stream" and you'd still watch...

SHOOOT!!! Prince on THE GRAMMIES!!! Ya'll been saying around here FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS..that you wanted LIL MAN to get some mainstream exposure...well here you go...

Some people/orgers will never be satisfied...I wanted to see him and his NPG band too...But I think this can be great...Beyonce is a great performer on stage...she has a stage presence just like he does..that you just can't deny.

I mean come on people...He's gonna be on THE GRAMMIES...THIS IS PRINCE.remember...the artist that some people(mainstream audience) believed to be dead. Anything other than that can only be deemed as a step up.And he is gonna appear on a show that will be viewed by millions of people

A lot of Prince fans have been complaining over the years...that they want to see him back in the mainstream again... Well...

Posititvity...Have you had your + sign today?

Jay-Z BE AFRAID...VERY AFRAID!!!!!lol

How can you actually see this as bad news?

You're not looking at it from the right perspective.

Instead of dwelling on the fact that, yes, he'll be performing with a woman whose whole attempt at being sexy is contrived, instead focus on the mere fact that he'll be seen by the public for once.

Performing with one of the hottest acts in music today will just help raise Prince's extremely damaged public profile, as well as give uneducated ppl a look at a true musical genius.

Get past your Beyonce hatred and see it for the positive news that it really is.
The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
