Prince to cover "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.

From reuters:

After discussions with Richard Wright, Nick Mason, David Gilmour, and the legendary Roger (Syd) Barrett, Prince is said to be heading to the studio to record a cover version of their 20 minute piece, "Echoes".

"Echoes" has been a longtime favorite of Floyd fans for it's series of "acts".

Act 1 is a normal piece with singing and traditional instruments, then the track trails off into act 2, which is a blend of soundscapes and various effects.

Then it slides into act 3, which serves as a slow buildup to act 4, the closing act. The traditional music returns in act 4.

This is said to be a radical departure for Prince from the types of music he has done in the past. Prince was quoted as saying "I'm not sure how I'm gonna do it, but I really dig that song. Blending the sounds in with the music will be the real challenge for me."

Sessions are slated to start in early March.

Eagerly awaiting fans are sure to be in for a treat with this latest project from the phenomenon behind "1999", "Purple Rain", "Xpectation" and most recently, "N.E.W.S.".

Dude, if you can't produce a link, then you've just lost all kinds of credibility on this site. .

The only truth is that "Meddle" is a fave
among PF nuts. I'll have to dig it out
& see if it would be something for Prince.
