Purple Rain is getting re-released for the 20th Anniv.

WB is releasing all 3 on DVD this year... anyone know anything about that?

I hear UTCM and Gb will be released on the SAME disc and that Purple rains 2nd DVD is just a 60 minute behind the scenes interview called "The truth" with Morris/ Alan leeds and Magnoli. With the original trailer.

I was a lttle dissapointed to hear this. Damn if the're gonna do it, do it properly. Both Gb and UTCM should be seperate releases with original art work and outakes. And all videos released 4 the album and b sides as a feature. Only a fans gonna buy the damned thing so make it 4 the fans.

Purple Rain has the potential of a real retro reflection this year and it looks like Princes gonna make an effort to make a "Comeback" of sorts, with what I think is some of the best material I've heard in ages with a shit hot tour potential if he does the greatest hit ala Australian tour. Why piss around with a half assed Purple release when u could really make something of it?

UTCM is a love it or hate it film. Personally, I love it. It is very unique. It's in Black and White and really has no musical numbers in it apart from half of Girls and Boys that is performed.

The whole thing is done as an homage to screwball comedys of the 30's and mostly it works! With Prince's sense of humor front and center with Jerome as HIS sidekick.

It is also famous for being Kristin Scott Thomas' very first film. Prince discovered her doing theatre there as she makes France her home with her husband and family. They remain friends and recently went to the premiere of a film together (how cute!).

Grafitti Bridge really does suck no matter how you cut it. It's worth seeing once as a fan-only curiosity.

The Purple Rain CD will also be re-released this year.

It's a little early for me to talk about, but I'm working on producing a Purple Rain instrumental tribute album that will be out sometime between June and August of this year.

I'm working with a composer to create all new instrumental versions of the entire album and some of the b-sides. The arrangements will be the same, we're just using totally different instrumentation. Imagine a movie score version of the entire Purple Rain album.

As we get closer to the release date, I'll post more details and maybe get the composer to answer some questions on the board. It will be a nice package with full art and everything.

The CD will be available at Best Buy, Wal Mart, Amazon, etc...
