the first three tracks are great ...
the other tracks are wortless or even less ... come on ... let's be honest: Blue Light Damn U 3 Chains O' Gold The Sacrifice of Victor those are really horrible songs ... If I'd wanna listen to some worthless songs I'd listen to TOTO ... I don't need Prince for that

Damn U is brilliant in the same way I Hate u is brilliant. and 3 Chains of Gold is a deliciously campy 70's rock opera. The Sacrifice of Victor, though, I agree. lame. one of the few tracks I dislike on the album. and in case you are wondering, yes I love this message brought to you by logic.

These Prince songs ... I don't know if I should take them serious ... or if he's just fooling around? A bit like The Darkness ... is that guy serious about his voice ... or is he just testing if he can get away with it ... anyway, he most be having great fun! Does Prince have a laugh about his tracks?

is one of my personal favorites, when i first got this CD, I couldn't put it down, I just wanted to hear your opinions... It's got everything for everyone, it's freaky, funky, and in a way sweet (i.e. sweet baby, blue light, and god created woman, morning papers) YES! I love this cd. It is one of my all-time favorites(top 10 anyway) from Prince. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Yes. The first 4 tracks are the disc's coolest.
I think the bulk of the album, thematically and compositionally, represents Prince's effort to show how he could create an album that chronicled where he was in life and still sound like NOTHING else on the marketplace. The "Bohemian Rhapsody"-knockoff, "3 Chains of Gold" was obvious, but still well-performed. Yes, the rapping was subpar, but only to a lot of folks who didn't listen to much rap to begin with. Taken at face value as a sprawling, ambitious 1990s album, I think it was a success.

It's a definite YES for me. The only thing is, while the music is awesome, it's just the corny ass rapping that gets in the way. It was cool at the time, but now it's just dated. Otherwise, it's a nice little concept album and it shows Prince & the NPG's versatility. For better or for worse. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Yes. I hate the rapping. Was this his first attempt to rap? In "The Pope" he sounds playful, crazy, kinda clowinsh.

is a great album. In fact, if it hadn't been for Tony M's lame raps, it would be almost as good as The Gold Exerience IMHO. Definitely one of P's better 90s albums. NO!!! His worst album by far imo. This was when he started following trends instead of creating them. I was so disappointed with this album when it came out that I actually stopped listening to the guy for a few years. My Name is Prince and 3 Chains 'o' Gold are the shittiest songs he ever did (along with Graffiti Bridge). Only good tunes are 7 and God Created Woman.
...and whoever said Parade isn't all that great, stop pushing in the Q-Tip when you feel resistance. THAT and SOTT is Prince at his creative peak.

Hell yes!!!
My favorite slow song by him "Damn U" is on here... "Sweetbaby" is a tender song which is very underrated... Sure we all hate his rapping phase but tunes like "The Continental" are so worth listening to when the break "tell me how you wanna be done" comes in ... and although "The Morning Papers" sounds like he's confessing he likes girlies young , the song has very a very good melody and guitar solo..."SEXY M.F." and I dont even have to say anything else ..."Blue Light" is playful and descriptful, how we all love Prince ..."And God created Woman" UN...DER...RA...TED . And it has one of his most misunderstood and confusing but excellent songs on it "7". This album gets a HELL YES!! [This message was edited Fri Feb 6 10:32:39 PST 2004 by CherrieMoonKisses] &

Yes. I really enjoy this cd. I just bought it a few weeks ago and I probably listen to this cd the most of any right now. I could do without a select few songs(the max, etc.) but on the whole...I dig it.
