5 years to the day since 1999: The New Master!!! 5 years. At least now there's some distance between us and that piece of Prince's catalogue.
What kind of birthday present do you want to give this release? In all seriousness, I actually didn't mind the new master itself, except for Doug E. Fresh. Take him off, and the song would be fine. The rest of the tracks, though, and the travesty of claiming this was a release by 'Prince And The Revolution', when Prince was called , and no members of The Revolution were present (nor was the original version even credited to The Revolution), all left a bad taste in my mouth.

What kind of birthday present do you want to give this release? 1999 TNM was the first officially released P record that I've never bought, after my teenage years of hardcore fandom since 1992. Partly because here in Germany it was only available as an import, and what I had heard of it certainly wasn't worth the money. I've always said to myself that one day I'll buy it, but I never did.

There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Haven't heard it yet. I don't like the song 1999 too much anyway, so I can't imagine enjoying this. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

This is easiest the worst purchase I have ever made for my Prince collection.

This one was a waste of my money and a waste of Prince's creative energy. Why redo an original? Why not concentrate on a new project?
