anyone know? Don't one of the cable channels usually show it - Living TV or VH-1? Either way, it will be on the net within hours of being shown in the USA. And I'm looking forward to seeing the performance - not gonna start raggin' on it before it's even happened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He should do something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Well, maybe not the last two, but definately something old and something new. And not Raspberry fucking Beret. Imagine him coming on and doing Controversy or something? How amazing would that be? Or perhaps When Doves Cry. Something explosive that the masses know. And then he could use the international exposure to his advantage by performing Musicology or something. Just what I thought... Controversy straight into Musicology. Damn.

Didn't they say at the end of the commercial that there would be an all star tribute to The Beatles?
Maybe he'll do a Beatles song.

I think it would be cool if prince would do a lil for N.E.W.S then go straight into puprle rain, or when doves cry, just to show off hes newest album "N.E.W.S" the prove tht he has still got it by going into hes old and best stuff Keenmeister

Maybe they are going to recognize Purple Rain's 20th Anniversary, it would be appropriate.
Damn I can't believe its been 20 years!

Trouble is with that is he would lose the audience quite quickly if he does ANYTHING off NEWS (even if that's what he's nominated for) I personally think he's there to pick up a lifetime achievement award more than to win in his category so expect a hit or two.

There's a salute to "old-skool" where PFUNK, EWF & RRFR are playing and also a salute to the Beatles. Prince in either of these or is he playing his own segment? test

It's also possible that Prince could be a part of the funk performance that's described on the CBS Grammy page at http://www.cbs.com/specia...ndex.shtml :
The 46th Annual Grammy® Awards will feature live performances by Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Sting and Sean Paul, Martina McBride, The Black Eyed Peas and The White Stripes, as well as a first-time ever funk performance by OutKast, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Earth, Wind & Fire and Robert Randolph & The Family Band. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

The man could sing a Yiddish version of "Arms of Orion" on banjo for all I care, I'm just hyped up to see him perform on the same show as Outkast and White Stripes. Who knew I could be excited about watching the Grammys again?
More importantly, who's gonna tape Alias for me that night?

Yeah I think the funk tribute will probably end w/ Prince to top it off. From the shows i saw this weekend i could see him doing a medley type of thing which would be a perfect way to top off the tribute. NEWS is too long an album to represent on the grammies & doing just a short teaser wouldn't come off as well as him representing his past. I have to say I'd be disappointed to see him do Musicology, especially with the opportunity he has with the large audience to really connect, it's really not that great a song compared to everything else he could play. But overall it will be nice just to see him on such a large platform again reminding everyone what a "real deal" looks & sounds like.

first time? Georgr & P-Funk's appeared at the Grammys in '93 They teamed w/ the Red Hot Chili Peppers in a "Give It Away/One Nation Under a Groove" medley. Two drummers, three bass players, a bushel basket of guitars and a horn section! Gary Shandling, who was hosting that night, had this look like he never knew what hit him!!
