And the award for longest running bandmember goes to...

Eric Leeds party

almost twenty years now..

Wasn't Dr. Fink on the purple bus through Lovesexy? That's only roughly a decade. Geez.. it's hard to believe an artist can go from "Baby" to "Anna Stesia" in 10 years.

Go'on Prince.

You're counting Eric as having given 20 years service as a band member ? That seems a little generous. It's fair to see he showed his face occasionally when he wasn't a regular feature of the NPG but there were years when he simply wasn't a band member.

Here's a list that was compiled on a.m.p in early 2002 that needs updating, but it gives an idea of who was in the band and when: Eric comes way down the list.

Dr. Fink (1978-1990) 13 years Keys
Bobby Z (1978-1986) 9 years Drums
Kirk Johnson (1990-1993) and (1996-2000) 9 years Drums/percussion
Mr. Hayes (1993-2001) 9 years Keys
Lisa Coleman (1979-1986) 8 years Keys
Michael B (1989-1996) 8 years Drums
Levi Seacer Jr. (1987-1993) 7 years Bass / Guitar
Dez Dickerson (1978-1983) 6 years Guitar
Brownmark (1981-1986) 6 years Bass
Tommy Babarella (1991-1996) 6 years Keys
Sonny T (1991-1996) 6 years Bass
Rhonda Smith (1996-1998) (2000-02) 6 years Bass
Miko Weaver (1986-1990) 5 years Guitar
Mayte (1992-1996) 5 years Dancer
Mike Scott (1996-2000) 5 years Guitar
Andre Cymone (1978-1981) 4 years Bass
Wendy Melvoin (1983-1986) 4 years Guitar
Eric Leeds (1986-1988) (1996) 4 years Horns
Tony M (1990-1993) 4 years Rap
Damon D (1990-1993) 4 years Dancer
Atlanta Bliss (1986-1988) 3 years Horns
Cat (1987-1989) 3 years Dancer
Boni Boyer (1987-1989) 3 years Vocal / Keys
Sheila E (1987-1989) 3 years Drums
Rosie Gaines (1990-1992) 3 years Vocal / keys
Kat Dyson (1996-1998) 3 years Guitar
Gayle Chapman (1978-1979) 2 years Keys
Wally Safford (1986-1987) 2 years Dancer
Greg Brooks (1986-1987) 2 years Dancer
DJ William Graves (1992-1993) 2 years DJ
NPG Hornz/Hornheadz (1992-1993) 2 years Horns
Marva King (1998-99) 2 years Vocal
Larry Graham (1999-2000) 2 years Bass
Geneva (2000-01) 2 years Dancer
Kip Blackshire (2000-01) 2 years Vocal / keys
Najee (2000-01) 2 years Horns
John Blackwell (2001- 02) 2 years Drums
Jerome Benton (1986) 1 year Dancer
Diamond (1992) 1 year Dancer
Pearl (1992) 1 year Dancer
Renato Neto (2002) 1 year Keys

(It doesn't include Estaire Godinez. Guest appearances by Brown mark and Dr Fink are not included from 2000.

Others missing are Susannah Melvoin and Jill Jones who sometimes guested, as well as RAD, Chance, Maceo and Greg, etc..)
