Is it just me?

Is it just me, or am I the only one who only listens to Prince music? If I am happy..he's got a song for me. If I am sad..he's got a song for me. If I want to dance..he's got a song for me. If I want to get nasty..he's got a song for me. Prince is what I know, my comfort zone, who I feel comfortable with...is that so wrong? Some think I am kidding or think I am weird, that I only listen to Prince music. I don't listen to FM radio at all. I'm with Prince on that one, that there is nothing on the radio! In my car is me and Prince, everyday. What do you all think? I know there are other artists out there, but those are often one-hit wonders, and by the time you get into them, they are gone! Prince has staying power. Power to the P man!!

there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. Me, I hate the radio because every song sounds the same. For me, Prince is a safe haven? I don't know, his music is kind of like an escape. I like other older artists, but Prince is the artist for me. It's great that other people finally feel the way I do, though.

My friends bash Prince. They hate him, and his music, and they say "he scares them". I think most of them are ignorant, and don't give things a chance. I'm not trying to sound like most people, but Prince has helped me through a lot, not him personally, but his music. I grew up listening to him, and me myself learning to sing and dance through Prince, and now cutting myself a demo, influenced by Prince.

I have found a few friends to put together a Prince & The Revolution tribute-band. I'm so excited, and I sure will let everyone on the org hear us!

Unhealthy? Hardly. I cannot imagine life without my Princey by my side. Then of course what really sealed it was the hug and kiss I got from him in 2002! Prince for Life! Other artists, can't really dig. Now I know who Beyonce is, but couldn't name a song of hers. I do have other CD's (old) from other artists that I pull out every once and a while, but then they go back on the shelf.

It's just who ur prone too. My little baby cousin, all she listens to is Britney Spears. Nobody else. I like Britney, I've seen her in concert, and I have her CDs, but they hardly get any play here (unless she's around of course), but in major rotation is my prince collection, and I just don't know if I could live without it.

Do you ever wonder, if Prince weren't an artist, who would we be listening to right now?

As for it being unhealthy, I think it's very healthy to be attached to an artist. Idolizing is a little unhealthy, but definately following one's work... it isn't unhealthy.

Look at historians- they follow history, some analyze one particular moment in time for their whole lives, and dedicate their lives to it... Do you think that's unhealthy? No, because that's their job. A musician's job is to entertain us, and let me tell you, Prince at 45/46 I think he's sexier now than ever... and he is certainly entertaining. And he is a part of history... and we are following his work.

Sorry for blabing

Prince isn't the ONLY one I listen to, but, it's
getting more and more exclusive...

I hardly buy any new CD's anymore, unless it's an
established artist that I have grown to like AND
there is hype over the CD. R.Kelly, Lenny Kravitz,
Outkast, Norah Jones...just some of the ones I've
recently bought.

Radio is geared towards kids...I find it better to listen
to my older CD's too.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

oh i thought it was just me too. i listen to at least 4 hours of prince a night. can't help it. my brother and sister are all caught up in that commercial shit, and i can't stand it cuz it doesn't have any substance to it. people laugh at me cuz i like prince. i don't care. i like having him all to myself. it's not my fault they can't appreciate genius like we do. i don't even waste my time trying to convert people to prince, becasue i feel like i won't like him as much anymore. he's my private gem, and no one i know loves, respects, appreciates, or listens to him like i do, and i like to celebrate and appreciate him every chance i get because his music- i don't even want to call it music, anybody can make a song...i like to think of them more as "experiences", because that's what they feel more like. he has so much humanity and spirituality and philosiphy in his "experiences" which are extrememly deep, and the more you listen to him, the more you love him. my favorite Prince lyric is "if a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind, then give me the electric chair for all my future crimes". first time i heard that, i was like "that is deep as shit, ain't nobody else writing that" i'm glad i discovered prince, because i was truly lacking someone like him in my life. sorry for rambling. just loves me some P(rince).
