Tom Jones, for making me long for the falsetto voice of Prince and screaming his lungs out in the one part where he sings no particular sign i'm more compatible with (that part gets to me a little). Tom Jones ruined "Kiss" oh no Sinead O'Conner made that song popular, Half of the world still believes it was her song. Hot, like hot wings with hot chocolate in hell. Ah huh! | |

sinead's version of nothing comares 2 u is what put the song on the map. it is sooo much better than the family's version and i think its better than the version prince performs.
i'd have to say the worst was that one rnb guy group that did when doves cry. don't remember who they were. as for prince's worst cover...without a doubt, his version of you can't make me love you. if ever there was an emotionless rendition of this beautiful song, it is this one. after hearing george michael and bonnie raitt, why did he ever release his version? | |

I like the Tom Jones "Kiss" and I still love Sinead's "Nothing Compares 2 U" - I won't say I like it better than The Family's version, but I think Sinea-nea's version is certainly a lusher, more realized recording.
I think the Hindu Love Gods' "Raspberry Beret" and Age of Chance's "Kiss" are the most fun covers I've heard thus far (with the exception of the ultra-fun Dump covers album, of course). | |
