PRINCE-Is he a Cradle Snatcher??? 
But is he... 
Prince has always had a fascination with young girls from the year dot. 1. In the Jill Jones song 'Mia Bocca' Prince wrote, it goes "I have only had one lover since I was 12 years old" 2. In the Appollonia 6 song 'Happy birthday Mr Christian' that prince also wrote it goes "...My Principal's name was Christian and I played upon his fears-in exchange 4 my diploma, I loved him through the years" 3. Prince snatched Mayte when she was 16 years old (Can U say Jerry Lee Lewis) 4. Prince seems to confront his fascination with young girls in 'Morning Paper' Where he sings "every school boy's fantasy she was-that's why he had 2 wait" 5. Prince has always been fascinated with taking a girl's virginity-in 'Melt with U' he sings "U must of been a virgin, what am i guilty of..." 6. Similarly in 'Erotic City' Prince chants "we can fuck until the dawn, making love till cherry's gone" 7. What about Kim basinger, Sussanah hoffs, Sheena easton, Sheila E!!! To name but a few.

The other stuff is simply general talk of prett young things that is prevalent in rock n roll..nobody says anythnig about the rock establishments continual fascination with all the young dudes and duddettes..you dont and wont hear jagger or even others singin about someone who's middled aged and it doesnt mean they want someone they can control etc...prince has no more dalliances with the young ones then other srtists that dont get mentioned or is unknown etc. Dont get it twisted. ntw Gwen S is mid 30's  "Climb in my fur." | |

Most people I've talked with or heard discuss this subject think Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, McCartney, et al. look just as incredibly ridiculous running around with, or marrying, women who are sometimes even younger than their own daughters. So I disagree with your assessment that "popular culture" harbors a subliminal double standard for men who date/marry women less than half their age.
