Admit it! Prince is a computer geek! This really is far too obvious. With the Beautiful Experience - video special he was already immersed in this world long before most everybody. He was probably the first mainstream artist to write serious songs about the internet ("My Computer", "Emale") and even produced a computer game - of himself ("Interactive")! Of course there is also his infamous obsession with drum machines and all kinds of technological gadgets.
Even back in 1983 he was already writing a song called "Computer Blue" probably while being hooked to his VIC-20 at the same time. Let's not forget that computers at that time were not the all-exciting multimedia machines of today, but the most geekish brand of bedroom activity you could imagine. And all the time you thought he was spending his free time having sex...

if he really WERE a computer geek, the NPGMC website would run a whole lot better. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

See also Peter Gabriel and David Bowie.

Most musicians are geeks. Much love to Prince! "You got a new man? Is he fine? Does he have a better ass than mine? Didn't think so.."

Remember he had a big database of people he was collecting info on on his pre-love4oneanother website.
Also, in 1997 an email was sent out to some people who regestered on his website mentioned above. It was a few lines that rhymed advertising a concert in Los Angeles. It was mailed to me from the email address NPG17Days@aol.com at about 130am california time. I immediately Instant Messaged NPG17Days@aol.com and had a short conversation with someone I believe was Prince. I never asked directly if it was him, and he never said it was. I said "thanks for the email, but I wont be able to make it to the concert, I'm stuck in New Mexico working." He said "There's a NEW mexico??? " I also asked if he was working on something online or just surfing, his answer was "surfing". I said something about being a "friend" and he said "friend, now theres a wonderful sound" eventually, he said "I have to go, someone just got online I have to talk to." Anyways, I added the name to my AOL Buddy list and that screen name was on from time to time, always after midnight. I never tried to send another IM, after about a week, the screenname dissappeared, (most likely, preferences were set to block). I somewhere on my laptop have the whole conversation saved. I have no way of knowing for sure if it was him, but I kinda believe it was. This was right before the original announcement of preorders for "The Truth" cd which was shortly withdrawn and later added to the CB set.

Prince has played in New Mexico 5 times... And 3 of the shows were in 97.

It may or may not have been him, but the "NEW Mexico" quote was a silly joke. I'm sure he was completely aware of the state of New Mexico. He was just being silly (or whoever it was, was just being silly).

I can't remember it now. He didn't say anything. I think either Lisa or Homer are linking up to the internet and the sketch shows all these computer geeks all over the world, one of which is Prince.
