Musicology - a theory

Others may have already mentioned/noted this but I have a theory about Prince possible forthcoming album Musicology (note I say possible album based on there being a video shot and that picture on NPGMC showing Prince holding a copy of a CD sized case with his picture on and writing saying Musicology).

An "ology" is to do with science. So musicology would be the science of music.

Could it be that Musicology is going to be the Best of 0(+> after all with a new track(s)?

This might tie in somewhat with Prince playing his hits in Oz?
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Boy, wouldn't that be thrilling.
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected.

Co-sign. I really don't see the point of releasing a best of. We all have that stuff already and repackaging stuff and making folks buy it just to get the new songs is tacky.

I hope it's a album of new studio recordings with his band and maybe some solo tracks - slightly more commercial than Rainbow children and N.E.W.S, but still artisticly challenging and personal (N.E.W.S. style music with vocals?). I believe it will be on a major label. Funny the Roots had an album called 'Phrenology' and I wonder if he's taken a que from them in some way?

No, seriously that's a good thought. I wouldn't buy the VBOP that Warners Bros put out, because I already have those. I would love if he and the NPG remastered all of those tracks. When you combine his 'hits' with his newly found 'funk/jazz' sound...you have yourself an asskickin album! Can you imagine, I'm getting excited thinking about it.

My only problem would be Johnny B-Well's drum kit. If they're playing 80's songs, he needs an 80's drum kit (not a strictly jazz kit). Songs like 'Take Me With U' don't sound right with regular snares, and toms. Note: the beginning of the song.
