What's your opinion on Prince's acting? I'd like him to do another movie, not a 'Prince' movie though, i wouldn't want him to play himself, possibly a cameo in something you wouldn't expect him to be in.
Trouble is, i don't think he can act that well.I'm not saying he's bad, i actually found his comic turn in UTCM really quite funny. I can't say anything good about GB, while Purple Rain was just Prince being Prince. Too easy. Do you think he's turned his back on movies completely? I think at one time he harboured a strong desire to break into film but the failure of UTCM and GB scuppered that. I really would like to see him doing another film. It'd be a good challenge for him.Prince seems to be playing it too safe these days. It would also raise his profile tenfold if he was in something relatively successful (even if it was just briefly) Agree/disagree?

I've said this many a time, but he'd be a great as a Bond villian, or in some larger-than-life role like in as a super villian or something.
He's just way too funny looking to be taken seriously in any role that is not hyper-reality based. I think his biggest asset in acting would be his sense of humour. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"funny looking" He could leave the mascara and heels @ home, infact that's kind of what i mean. Totally not be Prince. Do you think that's even possible for him?

Mascara and heels isn't what I meant by funny looking - I meant short, questionable enthnicity (let's not go there - sigh!), and big eyes.
I think his looks work in his favour - mascara, heels and all - it just has to be the right part. Maybe he doesn't want to act. Whether it's his past failures or a lack of interest, maybe he just doesn't want to. [This message was edited Mon Feb 2 11:26:37 PST 2004 by Romance1600] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think the bottom line is this: for him to do a non-Prince role, he'd have to be willing to be a part of someone else's project, and to be directed by someone else. Since being directed by someone else in PR, when has Prince been willing to do that? Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. Are you implying Prince absolutely HAS to be in control??? I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow... Now to find a way to exterminate Melody Cool and Rosie Gaines... http://artists.primetones...e_master68

Yeah, I've seen prince in movies. But I don't think I've ever seen him ACT. You all raise good points.
True acting would involve, as others have said, some stretching on his part. I don't think he can act. Now, Sean Penn in "Mystic River" -- that's acting.

I think he could've been a good Dr. Frankenfurter. Not Tim Curry good, but I can still see him in that role. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

He's not a bad actor. He has potential but i doubt that he has any further desire to act.
It would be nice to see him do a cameo in a Spike Lee film or someone like that. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

He's an OK actor. He was mad funny in "Cherry Moon", but he lost cool points in "Grafitti Bridge". You know you've got a problem when you like Morris' personality more than the Kid's. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Agreed. His best acting job was in UTCM.
