Could there be a commercial comeback?

Is it possible Prince could have a commercial comeback in 2004?
- He'll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
- it's the 20th anniversary of Purple Rain with a rumored widescreen extended edition DVD (well, it's more than rumor in other countries, haven't heard anything official in the US) as well as Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge on DVD (where's the acclaimed Sign O the Times)
- He just played at a Warner Bros party and while there said "There will be a press release soon"
- There are rumors floating (maybe real rumors, maybe just fans speculating) he'll sign with Warner Bros again (with Warner Bros soon to be under new management).
- he's been warming up for a major tour
- the NPGMC is actually promising to have new music "very soon".
- a rumor Prince will actually perform at the Grammy's
- a possibility that Prince could win a Grammy for NEWS.

Could the stars be aligning for a commercial comeback? There certainly is an awful lot of publicity converging that could bring attention to a new studio album. This year may very well be his last year to regain commercial relevance.

Could it be that he actually realizes this, which is why he mostly laid low in 2003. While grammy nominated, NEWS definitely wasn't an attempt at commercial success.
