WHAT THE HELL WERE WE THINKIN??? I was looking (For the first time in years) through my old Prince Video tapes. And I guess I'm really spoiled by modern technology, but I was truly appalled at the quality of some of the stuff we traded back then. Yokohama and Paris 86; why did we bother to EVER copy those concerts? The Same goes for Norfolk, VA 83 (in B&W no less) and the brief and poorly shot 88 Pittsburgh. But I did have some fun looking at the TV appearances, especially AMA 85, where he does "Baby I'm a Star" (which cuts off a lil too early on my copy). By the way ... who the hell was Little Dominic? Was he a midget or a child and WHY WAS HE THERE? Why was he on stage at the end of the Prince and The Revolution Live concert and why is his name included in the credits at the end of the tape? My name is Prince and I want your money

Little Dominic was a kid that lived in Prince's neighborhood. Prince said that he used to wash his cars...that's all I can remember.

No info on Little Dominic, but just last year, I have been going trough my video + audio tape collection.
Horrible sound + picture quality on most of the stuff. The only explanation: We had nothing better. Even a bad audio copy of the latest Prince concert was better than none.

funny you should mention this but i went through my video collection recently and out of the 30 or so there were about 10 that were awful i.e. London gigs where prince is obscured by someones head!, have to say there were some real gems in there such as the pro shot 1999 gig, the MPLS festival from 2000. The worst ones were those compilation tapes from foreign TV - YUCK QUALITY!. Dont be fooled with all the boot DVDs coming out , so far i cant see an upgrades in quality.

Thanx for the info on the new DVD's; I've actually been researching them and wondering if they were worth investing in. My name is Prince and I want your money

Thanx for the info on the new DVD's; I've actually been researching them and wondering if they were worth investing in. The actual hand held stuff can be a bit annoying, but the ones I've seen (New York '02, Tokyo '02) have really good picture quality and sound - and it won't deteriate after 10 years (hopefully!). Be warned of so called DVDs that are just transfers from VHS - some of them can be a bit nasty! Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com
