Hey Chicago people -

Who here ever goes 2 Berlin on Sunday for Prince night? I know y'all gotta get up 2 go 2 work the next morning, but is it a fun time? Do they play all Prince or the like? Does it ever get crowded?

good times. it does not start movin til late, however, so if you want to go and have a good time, you can't be worrying about what time you are going to be getting up the next morning. i have not been there in a while because of that reason, but last time i went, there was a decent size crowd, played great music, all prince (with some time, vanity, etc.) also they play some videos, live songs, etc.

oh yeah - berlin is a gay club mostly (not entirely) and on prince night i would say it is about half gay half straight - if that matters.

I was going pretty regular there for a while but I missed this past Sunday and I had decided not to go anymore. The first few times I went were pretty nice and it was pretty crowded. Sometimes the music flows nicely but the last time I went, the music was really off. The DJ spinned a lot of Prince songs you can't really dance to. I am attending at the end of next month cuz a really special person's coming into town and wants me to. After that, I'm done.

Oh, yeah. Sometimes they play some of Prince's protege stuff.

I used to go, but there's not really a point in going for me these days - it's too cold, PP9's mix has gotten way too stale, and I have more fun with the buddies I see at Berlin when we're out doing other stuff.

I had a blast the 2 times that I went. In June of '03 and then again during the Labor day holiday. That was a great night, because I didn't have to worry about work the next day. It doesn't sound like I'm missing much lately. Maybe when it warms up a little, I'll drag some friends with me and go.
