MUZAK

I work in Hotel and I am constantly exposed to endless hours of non stop Muzak, pumped into the hotel by some kinda radio feed. What I am wondering is why I have never heard a Muzak version of ANY Prince song? Strange question I know, but I have heard almost every other artist at one time or another in a Muzak mix. Is this a royalty thing, or a record label thing? Just wondering...

It's a royalty thing ! Prince his music is excluded from it, Prince's songs written for others occasionaly drop by though !
There was a whole story about it on the first year of the NPGMC, I only forgot how it was called !
I front sometimes, but U know, this is as quiet as it's kept...
Listen, I just gotta get outta here, that's all

If you don't hear the difference between jazz-rock fusion and muzak, well then that's your loss.

LOL I bought a CD last summer called something like
Purple Synth plays Prince.
I thought the track list was rockin' and I was curious to hear how people would emulate the arrangements.

Prince music seems easy; his productions are so refined that you are actually deceived.

Think of totally MIDI keyboards playing quantized melodies for "Take Me With U". It's still the best Muzak I've ever heard. wink

Are you talking about the "Classic Metropolitan Orchestra Plays Prince"?

Check out Bob Belden's two different CD's of easy listening takes on Prince classics. One CD is called "When Doves Cry" and the other I can't find, nor recall the title. The CD's each have different tracks. Anyone have the other one?

When Doves Cry is actuall pretty good to chill to.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
