I havent liked a single thing he's put out since Lovesexy. The Revolution had such a cold n angry sound that no other band in there genre could touch.Today he sounds like all the other stuff called R&B.Remember the first time you heard Sign O The Times,Purple Rain,Parade or Around The World in a Day?Those albums just blow you away.For as talented a musician he is and as big of a fan I was,listening to him now just annoys me.Say diamonds n pearls was his first album with everything before it never existing.You really think he would have reputation he has today?But what has happened to him is the norm for someone who's been around as long as he has.I no everyone in this forum is gonna disagree with me but all these people talking like he's some kinda god or something is really a trip.Prince this n that and on and on.And maybe thats just his problem.To many people kissing his ass afraid to say whats up.The guy is a real jerk of a person to put it nice.Well maybe now that he's a Jehovah's Witness passing out leaflets door to door he'll find someone behind one of those doors that send his ass back to reality.

Sign O The Times was released after Parade... I don't think he sounds like run of the mill r'n'b at all-there are no real bands out there doing live music etc and the ones that are all have the very distinct sound. Prince is still very respected as he is such an enigma and does surprise people, whether it be live or that one song off a new album

The Revolution was good for the time being...and more than likely are still good today...but things change and people move on.
Actually Prince sounds nothing like R Kelly, Usher, Avant, Kelis, Deborah Cox, B2K or any other R&B artist out there...unless your talking about NeoSoul artists such as Erykah, Angie or D'Angelo, which still he doesnt sound like because those artist are too busy trying to sound like him.
Just because people may feel Prince's music differently than you doesnt mean he's viewed as a God......unless someone outright says he is in a serious way. I dont think he is a God but he defientely epitomizes what it is to be a true musician.
Do you know him personally to say he is a jerk? Unless you do, then you cannot be so sure of his persona.
There's always 2 sides to a story.

Me thinks you may be the first person standing in the TicketMaster line once it's time for another concert, oh your not going because you want to but because you just want to see how Prince's performances have changed over the years. Gotcha...

Infact his career would have probably been over long before now (take into account the steep drop in sales after that album)

crazyhorse, I like the fact that you are openminded and have no problem expressing yourself especially here on a prince fan site. There are many others here who think the same way as you do with Prince. Yes I can myself see why some call him an asshole cuz of his perfectionistic style, but who wouldn't be an asshole in his type of position ... I think deja the mod said too she doesn't like anything after lovesexy... 2 each their own though...
