Anybody heard the Prince Grammy performance rumor?

I was ova at da club and someone asked if Prince would be performing as part of an all-star funk performance at the Grammys. One of the PP's suggested that we watch and have all our friends watch, too. So he/she answered the question and didn't answer it. I don't like to participate in rumors but I would hate it if he did perform and you guys didn't know about it. You can all love me or hate me later. mr.green

I'll be watching just because Prince is being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I'm working very hard to not have any expectations about what will happen that night. What will happen, will happen.

I'm not even gonna comment on the vague-ass, wishy-washy, TYPICAL response from the PP. It doesn't mean anything, and I still plan to watch because it's Prince's induction.

(That's no disrespect to the other inductee's. I'm just more looking forward to Prince's induction.)

BTW...couldn't hate ya TOFKA. hug

Yeah, I heard it last night on a radio program in Chicago. They interviewed Dez and Fink...but before they talked to them they stated that he was scheduled to perform "hits" at this year's Grammys.

I do hope they knew what they were talking about. They did have a nice chat with Dez and Fink though.

Um...I think you may be confused. The Grammy's and The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame thing are two seperate events. The above refers to this year Grammy telecast (you know the one where people like Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones clean up with multiple awards).

There has already been anounced that there will be a tribute to funk as part of this years performances, featuring among others, George Clinton and I can't remeber who all exactly but Prince did seem like the missing link of people officially announced.

He showed at Maceo's HOB show, he surprised everyone at the Warner Bros party after the Golden Globes...normally I would be very suspect, especially since NEWS is what hes nominated for in the best Instrumental category and chalk it up to wishful thinking, but i think it sounds really legit that he will perform!

What's the Grammy telecast date again??

Outkast and White Stripes are playing the Grammys, so with them and the funk performance, it should be a good time, Prince or no Prince.

What if Outkast, P-Funk and Earth, Wind & Fire...played some funk for awhile...and got the crowd all hyped and then Prince...began playing his Habibi from the back of the audience and walked up to the stage, rocking on really loud guitar funk...with some bad ass get up suit... and sang Erotic City/1+1+1=3 or some funk ditty, like Musiology...

That would be a killer opener, that no one would want to follow!!!

PRINCE opens the Grammys and gets the front page on NYPost and Music News Magazine.

Prince if your reading this...that would be a heavenly performance for this day and time in the music industry which sucks so bad!!!

WE NEED YOU!!!
