Would be if they worked something out regarding his master
tapes.

For instance, what if Warners told Prince:

We'll work out a deal where we promote your new record,
plus re-master and re-release your back catalogue and
you go on tour and tv promoting all of it.

Then, after the whole thing has gone down and the newly
released old and new stuff starts to drop in sales, and
we feel we've squeezed it enough, you'll get your master
recordings back.

Or at least, a chance to buy them back one by one.

That would make sense to me anyway.
