"Get It Up" by the Time. I loved this song from the first moment I heard it, and when I found out that Prince was behind the whole thing is when I got hooked.

I liked Prince when I heard I wanna be your lover ( I didn't know about soft & wet and for you until late 82 when 1999 came out) and I liked uptown and head from the third album. But it was when I heard controversy and the Time's first album (Really a Prince album with lead vocals by Morris Day.) that I got hooked. I can't believe how bad he sucks now.

Is it true before Alexander Oniel and Morris Day that Prince was going to make himself the lead singer of the Time under the name Jamie Starr?

I was getting interested when I saw the 1999,Little Red Corvette and Sexuality videos. Hadn't picked an album though. (It was the early days of MTV, everyone was into videos).. After the Doves video came out, I went to check out the movie as soon as it opened. I would have to say it was 'The Beautiful Ones' that blew my mind. I was hooked. The songs and the movie were such a trip! I grabbed the album next day. By the time 'Around the World In A Day' came out, I had picked up and wore out all his previous albums.

Saw purple rain b4 i was old enough to understand it, but I loved the music especially the beautiful ones. Pink Cashmere on the Hits made me go and do some research. I don't understand how you all weren't converted by PR! Come on people!

I saw Purple Rain when I was about eight and I loved it. I then went to see Batman and bought the soundtrack. I wasn't overly impressed but I liked a few songs on the album. It wasn't until Gett Off came out that I really got interested. The rest is history.
