Give me a song to get back into Prince with........please...

...I've suddenly realised I haven't listened to Prince for a while now.

I bought NEWS a while back and enjoyed it etc. But since then I'm finding that whenever I go near the CD player it's Tenacious D, Nikka Costa, Foo Fighters, QOTSA, or one of another umpteen other bands I pop on.

Which song would hook me back?

Oh, and by the way, whilst it's not as good as the original, of course, the Desert Sessions version of It by Josh Homme it exceptionally good.

"Let's Go Crazy", "Little Red Corvette" or "Life Can Be So Nice" should do the trick. nod 3 L's is all you need.

Put on 'something in the water'. Nobody but prince could have done this song.

If you still find yourself putting on Tenacious D - shoot yourself smile

Usually i agree with Rd, but we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

'Last December' is lame Weak lyrics. Weak track.

'Everlasting Now' is a pretty funky, but that damn chorus! Yuck!

If you're gonna go recent then i say plump for something like 'I love you but i don't trust you anymore', 'Come On', 'Pheromone'.

Many thanx for yo suggestions...I try and try to make Prince love me again...sometimes I get as far as Good Fun on Exodus and that makes em smile. Sadly I'll then put on a Wendy and Lisa CD and get lost in their chorus of sounds that it takes a while to fight my way back to '86 and that Paisley thang.

Curiously...I don't kow why...Le Grind strikes me as a song to listen to once again...why thank you.

J Homme v.It Poli Kala, by the way...isn't it?

Whatever you do, don't listen to any NPG stuff. Not that it's bad; but it's just a bit mellow. Play Dirty Mind or one of The Time's albums. If you're not shakin' your rump after a few minutes, then I guess you're just over Prince.

Anyone else notice how few "new" songs are being sugguested?

And some say Prince is improving? Not according to his most loyal fan base.

I had zero interest in the music Prince has released since 1998 ...
‘till I found myself a copy of "WHOLE LOTTA LOVE 4 PARIS" ...
that bootleg made me enthousiastic again.
Listen to "The Work pt.1" ... That should do it

Pardon me, but are you saying there's a problem because you listen to other recording artists, instead of listening to Prince ALL the time? JeezUS.

Great Answer HolyWine! ANY of P's cd's will do the trick. Any cd I listen 2, becomes a "favourite" and remains in my stereo till I bring out something else by P, and then THAT stays as well! I've accumulated MOST all his cd's, and bought a 100 cd player 4 my system, so I dont need 2 alternate 5-10 cd's only. It grows FAST!
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
