The "Come" Remix Vinyl

What exactly is this? I've heard several reports that it
was included in an early promo of the "Come" album.

To my knowledge it contains about 5 0r 6 mixes of Come
trax.

My question is, are these original Prince mixes, or in
any other way still official remixes?

And what exactly was on it? I think I've got the entire
thing now but there seem to be some songs on this cdr
that don't belong.

Like "Walk Don't Walk", "The Sacrifice of Victor" and
"The What's My Name Experience" -which are all obviously
from different albums.

Anyway, it's sickeningly cool. Some of these remixes
sound sooo much better than the album versions.

The "Walk Don't Walk" remix is stupifyingly funky compared
to the D&P version.

And "Interactive" is a trip and a half in this version.

Someone? Anyone?

Thanks.

i've seen it at auctions. it's 2 records, the come album plus re-mixes of letitgo and space, if i remember correctly. nothing unreleased.
but npg magazine reported in early '95 that o(+> was remixing trax fom come, including the title song, for possible release. wonder if they meant 18 & over? hmm

Well, with the amount of remixes from the title songs
from "Come", it's hard to think what version they are
talking about

smile

There's the electronic version
There's the beautiful experience version
There's the album version
There's the New Version version [on this cdr I have]
There's the Hybrid mix that mixes Electronic&Original

any others

confuse

while we are on the topic of come, has anyone heard the original test pressing of the album from march 1994?
some of the segues are different. now i'm not talking about "poem" being broken up into segues on the official release; i mean that interactive into endorphinmachine is like a straightaway segue. in fact the final beat is missing from interactive. instead endorphinmachine kicks right in. this also happens between race and dark.
all these years and i had no idea!

hi there,

think i know what you're talking 'bout. 'walk don't walk' starts of with tambourine/drum intro and mix has diffirent guitar slide underneath the track most of the time. it's definitely a boot, but a very nice one indeed!! still trying 2 find out myself who made that one. but whoever made it used the cd 2-track version, and played bits of guitar over it plus added xtra rhythms. some 'mistakes' indicate 4 a bootleg mix. but still thumbs up!! also nice remix from the same guy off 'pheremone'. that is... hope we're talkin' bout the same mixes here.

The remixes you are talking about are all fan made. I think
they first appeared on a boot called "Versace and other
Experiences". The names of the remixes give the impression
that they may be genuine (there's a couple of alleged "Kirk
J's Remix"s), but they're definitely not.

As Langebleu and Sovembol have already mentioned, the official
2 disc version of the Come album only had previously released
mixes of Letitgo and Space included as extras.

Prince had indeed originally intended on releasing several
of the 'Come' tracks as singles, and many different mixes of
several tracks were made (on top of the different original
mixes made previous to the album's assembly). There were
many versions and remixes made of the title track, but
almost all of them remain in the vault. 18 & Over started out
as one of these remixes (much like Violet The Organ Grinder
or Loveleft, Loveright did) and is the only 'remix' to have
officially surfaced on CD.

The only other 'official' versions of 'Come' to be circulating,
are the remix used in the Beautiful Experience
TV special (which is an edit of a longer unreleased mix),
and the original version used in the Glam Slam Ulysses show
(plus a few early rough versions of this original version).
