I say Vikki cos Dorothy seems more pre-occupied with sex than love and Vikki even wants children.
On the other hand Dorothy does like Joni Mitchell music and has got a cute way with words and a sense of humour that Vikki doesn't have-Vikki doesn't even laugh @ the joke about the organ...

I think I'll change my mind and go with Dorothy being the deepest most soulful woman...

I don't think Dorothy is pre-occupied with sex at all. She
seems very innocent and almost childlike.

She obviously reads a lot and enjoys people for who they
are. She helps the narrator of the song without wanting
anything [sex] in return.

Instead she seems simply content to take his mind off the
things that worry him by having a bubble bath -it doesn't
even bother her that he'll keep his pants on.

If anything, she boasts his character for doing so by her
statement "sounds like a real man to me".

When the pants eventually come off, she acts like she
doesn't know what's going on. Instead pretending to be
pre-occupied by more ethereal things.

The narrator goes home and everything works out fine. She
offered him new faith in people. Whereas a simple one night
stand would have left him unsatisfied, his encounter with
Dorothy gave him a lot more than just temporary relieve.

She restored some of his hope in humanity and the kind of
unselfish kindness that some people still have to offer.

Anywho, I'd pick Dorothy, she sounds like a laugh and she's
obviously got more interesting stories to tell when she gets
home from her waitress job than poor old stuck up Vikki
who's only lusting after Mr Wayne.

Vikki Her theme is cooler

Isn't it funny how these two songs might reflect Prince's views on women?

Dorothy was some sexual (though unrequited) muse who helped him deal with his "issues." Don't get the feeling that beyond being "cool" Dot was much of a person. She seemed more like a silhouette.

Vicki appears to be a real woman with real wants and needs (real enough to not find Prince so funny). She seems like the type who won't wait forever, either.

In both situations, Prince seems to have a very selfish, one-sided relationship with the woman.

I'll pick Dorothy, easily.

What do we know about Vicky except that she called him over, and is just sitting around waiting for him to make up his mind? I don't think she's deep at all, but a simple girl in love with a rock star.

'Cos Vicki did not laugh does not indicate a lack of humour--she has it in her context. She is slightly stuck up. I think the fact that she did not laugh amused Prince.
