Purple Rain DVD in the works-update I can confirm that the PR DVD extras are in the works. Today at 1st Ave, Bobby Z and Matt Fink were interviewed for the project. Wendy and Lisa and Brown Mark are all being interviewed as well over the next week (according to my sources).
It is finally happening people! How long ago did UPTOWN start a petition to get this done and finally someone is taking it seriously! Sweet! from what I understand, there was no behind the scenes footage shot. I don't know if they are adding the outtakes, but whats the use of doing something like this if they don't! I think the ULTIMATE content for Disc 2 of this DVD boxed set would be:
"The Avenue" live benefit show at 1st Avenue. Tracks from three of the songs were used for the actual movie, it was Wendy's debut. Isn't this like one of the most sought after "rare" recordings already? Someone made me a video of it but it's so bad quality it's painful to watch. I'd buy a DVD like this in a heartbeat!!! Paisley lawyers: Pay attention. This is how to combat boots and make money! I'd easily pay $50 for something like this if not more! And I already own Purple Rain on vinyl, CD, VHS, DVD as well as the aforementioned video someone made me!  |
